hi

my service provider will let me have a 6300 when i renew and this'll replace my 6131.

before i do i'm worried about the texting on the 6300, the 6131 was never able to go to predictive text mode (thats the three little green bars for those familiar with it) the two bar format worked fine but it would never do what the Motorola before it did which was automaticly fill in the word after two or three letters wer typed in. i saw somweone else with a 6131 and he couldn't either, maybe those ones weren't released in australia

it still didin't do this after numerious help sites and a month in a repare shop.

has anyone had this problem with their 6131, or before i commit, with a 6300?

phones aren't my tecnical area:happy2:, and i'm using a semi-functional keyboard

cheers

Nokia's predictive text (on the 6300 or otherwise) doesn't pre-fill the words like Motorola's do (at least none of the ones I've ever seen). The only thing I can suggest is get an S60 based phone (i.e. 6120, 6110 Nav or any N or E series handset) and try and find a 3rd party app that does it.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong as I'd like something like this myself on my N95.

Cheers

Nokia's predictive text is based solely off of Tegic T9's system, which does not complete the words. Only Motorola's iTAP does that. While I like it on my ROKR E6 since it saves me the hassle of using the touchscreen keyboard more than I need to, I find T9 better, more efficient, and much faster. So what if you have to type the entire word? Once you get used to it, it's much better than having to select the word from a long list of words...

basicly it doesn't toggle to the three little green bars like it says in the manual
