I just got my VX8300, and I've figured out how to get music onto it, using the cord and my computer...but the main reason I wanted to get music onto the phone was so I could use these songs for ring tones, but I cannot figure out how to make these songs ring tones. I can't find a setting in my sound settings to make a song a ring tone, and I can't find anything in the settings with the music/song to save it as a ring tone.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Verizon has a history of crippling their phones with features. My Vx9800 is exactly the same. I know of no way to make MP3's ringtones, or any other sound file for that matter

Get BitPim opensource free software at bitpim.org. Connect your computer to phone via Bluetooth. Drag and drop your MP3 onto BitPim RingTone folder. BitPim converts it. Then click SendPhoneData icon. Can be done in 2 minutes maybe less. BTW you can manage your phone contacts, calendar, videos, MP3s, etc as well as ringtones with BitPim too. A Bluetooth USB connector for PCs can be had for less than $20.
