I have had 8 months of trouble free Bluetooth connectivity, until 2 weeks ago.

Symptoms: With 2-3 green blinks of charge left, the HBH-60 will suddenly and w/o warning either 1)drop the Bluetooth connection and/or 2)shut down. If #2 happens, I will then either be able to power back up or the HBH-60 stays off and requires a plug in to the AC adapter to allow it to power back up. When I attempt to power back up, the call button flashes an amber light once just prior to the unit coming on. Now if I have to plug in the AC adapter, the light will flash amber repeatedly and the unit will not power on until the AC adapter is inserted. The call is not dropped, just the Bluetooth connection. Reception signal strength varies between 2-4 bars out of 5. Distance between the 2 units are less than 2 meters, i.e., phone in pocket or on desk in front of me.

I was able to duplicate this issue with a second T68is and a second HBH-60. With either handset, each headset loses the Bluetooth connection and/or powers down.

Intuitively, I would think that if this spontaneous Bluetooth shutdown is occurring separately in 2 different headsets with 2 different T68is' then it would have to be something with AT&T's network. But, I don't know how that could be, since I would think the Bluetooth connection is between devices and not affected by the network, especially if the calls are not being dropped.

I have also tried resetting the HBH-60 per holding the call button down for 10 seconds, hearing the 2 tones 2x, letting the unit rest for 30 seconds, then re-pairing. No good. The unit shut off, lost the Bluetooth connection and required plugin to re-power up.

My carrier is AT&T Wireless. I mention this b/c I noticed this problem just about the time when it was announced that AT&T was changing its frequencies to utilize the 850 MHz band and as a result the T68is was to be obsolete.

I am about to send one headset back to SE for replacement and see if that headset incurs the same issue. I have yet to locate a different phone and test the Bluetooth connection.

Any thoughts? Could it really be AT&T's network? What are the odds that 2 headsets and/or handsets are both defective? The second handset and headset were never used and still in their boxes.
