So whats going on with the k850? Ive heard rumors that there already planning a redesigned version with GPS and a tv tuner? Is there any weight to this? Also , can this phone simultaneously take both a m2 and microsd? or just one at a time?

It looks so tasty - the LED ring around the camera is eye catching as is the neon trim....

Makes my P1i look boring in comparison....

The K850 will remain as is i.e. no redesign. The card slots is a 2-in-1 i.e. one card slots handling two card formats (similar to the one found on most laptops).

It looks a little 'thick'. And Im a little put off by that d-pad with two buttons on the inside.

Anyway, Im still waiting on a production model review. Based on the previous review at MR (before it was attacked), the photo quality of the K850 had only been 'marginally improved' over the k800 and is still not as good as that in an n95. But that was a prototype - the production model should (or could) be better.

It looks like it will be the next phone to replace my n-80.
i've had the n-80 afor 14 months now, which is forever for me, usually i'm swapping every 6 months or so.
The w800's 2 mp camera was just about as good as my n80's 3mp camera, and the w800 even took way better night shots.
Now, it could be all about optics, since the n80 had only generic, no kodak, no carl zeiss etc. but i didn't see a huge increase w/ the n95 i tested.

I was debating wether or not i should go back to SE, but the k850 might just swing me back to that direction.

Like I wonder what's up with SE making thick and bulky phones again? The trend today is towards thin and thinner phones like the N76, 6500 classic, and their own w880 and k770 - then here they are with a phone that's as big and as thick as an N95? (And it's not even a smartphone at that too). I dont think much about the camera - like how bad or how good it is, it's the size of the phone, that I think will disagree with me. It's even like slightly thicker maybe bigger than the k800??

my guess, is that they want the k850 to be more like a camera.
I'm guessing that the camera will also have an optical zoom as well as digital, and they are pretty much going to have a lot to sandwich in.
also, having the phone be "stable" on flat surfaces is a plus, you can put the phone on something and have it take an auto pic., i used to do that a lot w/ my w800 before.
as for not having smartphone utilities, it will be a big minus for me, but i'll make due, one thing that i really want to keep, is the voice recognition that's on my n80.
