You could try a different battery...buy an original one from a reputable merchant.

Agree with CCT. The battery you've got's probably just really old.

Get a GENUINE NEW BATTERY.

Sometimes, ebay merchants will say:

- theirs is genuine, when it's not.
- theirs is genine, but it's old.

If you're after best performance from the battery, go with a NEW GENUINE BL-5C. On the latest batteries, there's a sticker with a black scratch-off panel on it covering a code.

You can check the code here: http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4222205

You can force the BL-6C in there. It should help you get an extra hour or so.

You don't mean that sarcasm, do you? Of course we care  Just because someone doesn't answer in 2 seconds, doesn't mean we're neglectful.

In any case, it isn't normal that two different batteries have the same code...that's definitely a fake.

Original brand new batteries should come in full Nokia packaging. There should be a leaflet along with the battery too.

If it doesn't come without those, then most likely it is a fake or reclaimed from another phone.

Here's one of a few links to legit batteries: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=103741

It's the price of about 5 fake batteries, but it will probably outlast those 5.

Jose, that's a bit expensive for me! What about these batteries, they look pretty real to me?

Do you think they would do the job?

Yup, they are pretty expensive but you save yourself the chance of the fake battery damaging your N70.

The only time I would really warrant fake batteries is if the phone costs less than the battery.

It's up to you though. Don't trust the images posted on eBay unless the seller indicates that is exactly what you're getting. Even then, that could be faked.

I've used fakes before, most recently on my N93 (only because they were the only ones able to arrive in the time I needed them) and they killed my N93. Fortunately I was insured.

Take a look at this:

looks genuine? Blurb says it's genuine. It's not. Packaging should be:

I suspect this one to be genuine, although cannot guarantee. Maybe worth messaging the seller.
It's £9.99 + £1.99 p&p

I suppose it's possible to find new and genuine batteries for much cheaper than the expansys link. Expansys are generally more expensive, but at least you save yourself the bother of having to replace that fake battery a couple of weeks down the line when it stops working properly.

Note, all Nokia batteries selling for under £5 on eBay are either fake/used/old - you get what you pay for.

The fact the the photo shows a battery out of it's box and with it's serial number visible flags issues with me. I would want some sort of proof or guarantee before buying it. Brand new Nokia batteries cost nearly $70 AUD (Approx. GBP30).

If you feel confident, go for it. Or at least make sure you can return it if you do find the number or battery to be fake.
