Hi there just got a quick question for all you clever people. Currently I have a N80 which has a rubbish battery life. Barely 2 days at the moment, and i've replaced the battery...
Anyway i was wondering if the battery life in the N95 was any better?
Cheers E

Not really. Under heavy use, I can kill a full battery in 2 hours.

Under normal use, I get about 3 days.

it really depends on what sort of user you are, i tend to charge mine nightly, if you're not a fan of doing that, if you just use it for calls and texts, you could get 3/4 days, if you want to run 3g, wifi, 5mp camera, bluetooth, play some music, watch videos etc, you'll burn it out fairly quickly, maybe 24 - 30 hours.
the latest firmware reportedly does improve the battery life a bit, but it is still a bit of a pain for a lot of heavy users, most get along fine though :)

My cousin gets 2 days, average, on his n95. That's with some bluetooth headset use and a few minutes of wifi use.

I get around 1~2 days. Average usage.
Playing Micropool 2007 :p which uses audio and the screen all the time I can play up to 3.5~4 continuous hours, thats not so bad, but not so good either.

Normal settled usage, I get away with not charging for approx 2 days.
I still need to use my spare battery though, like on weekends when I'm using the N95 as my main cam.

mmm... well, you can do some batt saving tips on the n95 as well.
like what most people do with their n80... you can set it to gsm when not using 3G, turn off the wifi scanning, dim the backlights a bit, etc...
on average, the n95 lasts about 1 to 2 days... depends highly on where you are, and what you'd call "average" use. My n80 before lasted the same. (1 to 2 days).
cheers!

I don't understand these battery gripes. Granted, I may have lower expectations, but I find it an absolute miracle if a phone of mine, dumb or smart, can last TWO days. Even my old E70 with the big BL-6C battery couldn't last for three days except maybe once or twice!
And this was during the schoolyear when a lot of times it's just idling in my pocket during class!
And my even older 9500 with the famed E61/E62 Li-Polymer battery couldn't last a quarter of a day.
Honestly, I'm not that heavy a user, so it's not like all the blame's on me.

I suppose there's high expectations of the battery because it's meant to be such a high end convergence handset that's supposedly taking over other dedicated devices and in doing so, it should match at least some of the performance of those devices, in all aspects, even battery life.
e.g. it's meant to be a digi cam. A high standard would be approx 400-500 shots, average about 250, and low about 100. The N95, if used solely as a digicam, will die within about 80 shots (less if more than half used flash).
For normal calls and text, the battery is surprisingly great. I've been able to achieve the 6 hours of call time stated, and that's pretty high.
But if you dare mix in other features, it won't last half a day.
