I hope that someone in the US will upgrade theirs. Since this comes so late - maybe it fixes some of the 'quirks' reported here by the others. Like that annoying slideshow.
So let's wait for someone to report or review it.

I doubt it. It's almost the exact same. I think the reason it takes longer to come out in the US is due to stupid US laws they have to comply to. Such as adding 911 to the phones, not allow a silent shutter, etc.
But, you're right, it's finally out! Way before Aug. 6th like I though too! I'll upgrade it tonight. I'm about to leave the house right now. I'll report back to you guys if I have similar problems... (ie - slide show, missing key presses, etc...)

Just performed a successful update on my US Nokia N95. Will report if I have some of the same issues in this thread... It's weird to see that key flash when the screen light goes out... I wonder what the point of that is for???

I think that's similar to the N80, where it blinks so as to inform you that it is in fact still on.

I just bought my N95 (bearing Product Code 0548763); I was about to upgrade its firmware to V12 but seems that many people are complaining about some strange issues (other than the ones already discussed here) with V12 (with the same product code of course). Is it possible that we experience different situations with different product codes on the same firmware version?

Is v12 worth it? I haven't updated yet.

If you are on V10, I would update.

I'm on V10, so if I go for V12, what would be the main/major improvements?
By the way, do you suggest me changing my product code 0548763 before doing the upgrade?

most aspects of the new firmware are great but the few bad ones are really annoying.
like the screen blacks after 5s quite frequently even though the screen timeout is set for like 15s.
when the screen blacks out it leaves a wierd colour behind for a second. not a problem but can be annoying.
random shutdowns for no reason
dreadful memory managment when the phone has been on for a while, can't run just the internet and music player at the same time(this is listed as a fix in the changelog).

if anythhing i would not suggest changing your product code to 0548763 'cos that is the US version and we are always the last to get the latest firmware updates.
