Hi all, I recently got this phone and have no problem whatsoever with it.
Can anyone tell me how to transfer MP3 songs to the handset?? tried it with the IR but it didn't work (something about the file is too big). Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to use IR for this? For the price they set up for this phone, I wouldn't have thought that I still have to buy USB cable!!
Another question, can anyone tell me how the quality of the MP3 is? Is it worth it for me to buy a 2 earpieces earphone? if so, does anyone know what earphones can function as handfree as well?? I curerntly live in Germany.
As usual any replies and comments will be highly appreacited.
Thanks,
Raist

You suppose to use card reader to transfer a big mp3 file. Well, about 2 earpieces earphone, I suggest you to buy the NEC e616/808 stereo headphone which is use 2.5 mil jack as GX30. It's worthy to get a stereo sound, isn't it? Someone in http://wm.trafika.co.uk has tried it and it's exact stereo.

i too have a GX-30.
Where on the storage card are you supposed to put the MP3 files?
I have one in the "sounds" folder...but the MP3 program on the phone says there are no files present.

I also had problems. What I did in the end was format the SD card via the phone. Then use a card reader to copy files to the sounds folder that is created.
I did this today. Yesterday I didn't have a card reader so I used a PDA.

It doesn't come with a stereo handset. If you are in the UK you should be able to order one soon. Check the sharp or vodaphone website.
I bought a stereo headphones handsfree from Superdrug on Oxford street from the 3 shop. The nec 808 0r 818 phone has the sam phone jack and so you can use the headsets for that phone in the gx30.

My understanding at the moment is that you can play mp3 files made via REal Jukebox software - but mind you, i am still using the real jukebox vers. 8, and not the new realOne software.
I note that the mobile phone won't play files made by Acoustica.

This is less of a problem since it has a memory slot in it. Transfer of reasonably large files take a lot of time anyway.
I'm considering buying a GX30.

I have noticed this problem with MP3 formats. Some will play fine some won't. I don't know much about MP3 formats but I assume there are different formats of MP3??

The GX30 won't support variable rate MP3s. However it will play MP3s up to 192kbps.

So there is NO WAY at all of sending/receiving files via the bluetooth?
There has to be some way of doing it, does anyone know a progoram or something that'll let you (something like the 60 series' filesend app) send/receive files?

Anybody know of any way or software to check if a mp3 is variable bit rate of not (basically if it will work on GX30). At the moment i have to transfer it to the phone to test if it will work, an quite often it doesnt (especially with newer songs ive noticed)
