We, like the rest of the world, have waited a long time to get our hands on the Motorola V600. Well, we've finally done, and no regular V600, either. We're tested the limited edition Aston Martin V600! See if the V600 runs as good as it looks....I know I said I was pissed at Mot and wasn't going to do a V600 reivew.
I lied.
I got one of the Aston Martin versions from ACS and was going to shoot a gallery of it, but it was just too good not to review. So there ya go.
I present to you: the Motorola V600 review (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=663&source=FORUMS)

great review!
you mentioned that MMS creation does not support multiple slides or pages? that's odd coz my V300 supports it, and i would think that the V600 should have it as well since they practically use the same software. the insert new page option will only show up once you've already inserted a multimedia item.

i was reading your review about the v600. You kept on mentioning that you were not able to send files from your v600 to another phone without BT. BUT YOU CAN!!!!
here is how:
lets say a ringtone. from the main screen:
1.press the menu button
2.scroll to multimedia and click it
3.scroll to sounds and click it
4.scroll to the sound you want to send and click the menu button.
5.Now there are two ways. to send:
5a.Scroll down the list to copy. this will copy the file to another phone. If you BT is not on, it will ask you if it is ok to temp. trun it ok, click yes, search for the device, and boom, your sending a file via BT.
5b.you can slo choose move. Moving the file will actually move the file from your phone to the other device, thus erasing it from your phone.
6. Accept the file tranfer from the other phone
so there u have it micheal. Hope u enjoy it

I'll second that - my V525 works pretty much the same as the V600 (heck, they really are the same phone), and I've sent/received pictures/contacts with T610s no probs, contacts sent/received to 6310is no probs.
Good review, although maybe you are expecting too much - I find the speed to be fine, especially with a bunch of shortcuts setup.
I'll agree with the contacts manager though - it is much too basic, and hasn't changed in the slightest since the T720 implementation. If anyone from Moto is reading, please get this sorted!

BT was not an issue, nor sending files. My only real problem is the speed.

Great write up, Michael. I agree with you about the speed. I had a V400 for a week, and it was actually faster, so I think this is software related since they're driven by the same processors.
As for the BT transfers, it is definitely in there as others commented. Additionally, I have a Mac, and tried to do a BT browse when I first got the phone, but it didn't work (this was my first experience with BT). After a few days, I tried again, and it worked beautifully. I can snag photos from the phone, and send them to it (and MP3s, videos, etc). I think you'd find this if you had the phone longer.
Also, you can absolutely edit profiles. I found a great site with V600 profiles which can be downloaded if you connect to the site from the phone. It recognizes that it's getting a profile, and saves it. Then, you can alter bits and pieces of it, and the phone automatically creates a Custom Profile based on your changes to the configuration. Again, I think you'd find this with more time with the phone.
That said, awesome write up based on limited experience, and I can't disagree with the speed complaint. Sort of a Moto issue...even though faster than the V600, the V400 was still slower than any Nokia I've owned or SE I've tried.

I have been using the V600 for a week now. I bought it in Greece (sim-free) for 379 euros. At this price, I think the V600 is a bargain, especially compared to the $1500 special edition price!
Great review, by the way. There are a couple of comments I'd like to make though. First, as other members have confirmed, it IS possible to send photos to another phone through BT. I sent several myself to a Nokia 3650. Second, there is a lot of talk about menu speed. I have seen no noticable delays in the menu (except perhaps in the appearence of photos in the contacts menu). Perhaps regular V600's don't have these 2 problems that the review mentioned regarding the "special edition" phone.
In any case, I think this is a great phone. It looks great, sounds great and has more features than the competition in its price category. On the minus side now, I cannot imagine why there is no video record capability (video playback is available). Finally, although the screen is exceptional as far as resolution and color are concerned, I wish it were slightly larger in size.

It's really easy over BlueTooth using OS X.
Just go into the BlueTooth connection thingy (not the one to browser files...the other one. They're both in the Utilities folder). Then you just choose mobile phone, and make sure the phone is discoverable. That's it.
Then, to view files, use that file browser app in the Utilities folder.
Easy as pie.

Thanks. It was easy!! I was looking at the wrong options.
All I need now is to wait for the isync bit so I can do the rest :D
On the other topic, the profiles you were talking about. Are those the themes you are talking about?

I'm not sure I totally get what your referring to, but PM me, and we can figure it out. There are themes, yes. I don't know about profiles...maybe I was smoking crack!

How many phone numbers can be set to dial with voice? I had a motorola phone previously and I think there were only 20 and my current SE has 50 or 60.
thanks.
The phone will not ring if you are using a bluetooth headset.

it says it has no countdown timer, does that mean, if I ring someone, it won't tell me how long the conversation has been.
because i need to know in the next hour as I am buying it...
panasonic x70 when you are talking it tells how long every second you are talking which i love... I love being able to see how long I am talking for without hanging up or going into call duration...
so can someone tell me this in the next hour, because if it doesn't do this, i won't be buying it..
