Hi, I'm new to this forum. Just had some questions about SE cellphones.
I've been mostly using Nokia and Motorola for the past 15 years or so. I like Nokia, but often I had to go with Motorola, becuase of certain type of deal being offered at the time. But lately, I've been looking at Candybar style cellphones from SE. I think SE is coming up with some rather beautiful design, but some of my friends told me SE has bad reliability records. I was wondering what all of your opinions are. Is it true? If it is, is it confined to certain types of models, or all of SE models. Compared to Nokia, how you would you rate SE products in general.
Thank you.

Hey Electro-Spyder what kind of problems is your friend facing with SE, cause most SE phones are very reliable and solidly built though some of them have had problems with joysticks breaking after year plus of usage but then again all manufacturers have their share of problems, though i have found SE phones to be better than others

That's good know. Thank you. I'm not sure what kind of problems my friends were talking about. They didn't specify as to what. Maybe they just got bad picks. I don't know.

I used to have a K750, it really hanged a lot (7 to 10 times a week), so I sold it after only 2 months of using it. I sometimes use a K800 now, it slows down sometimes, and hangs occassionally - I wouldn't call it 'unreliable'. I think SE is really making effort in improving their phones - specially the later models. The k800 doesnt hang as much as my former k750 did.
Maybe, if you do get one, you should really take the time to update it to the latest firmware, and be sure to close the app before you transfer to the next one.

I've had numerous SE phones as well as Nokia and Motorola.
With proper care any phone will function fine for long periods of time. Personally I have never had any problem with SE phones at all, and I am still using SE to this day. I love their form factor designs and UI.
Asides from the lemons that will always exist no matter what brand, I can recommend SE 100%.
Just need to know your own strength hehe, don't go mashing any joysticks.

My k800 is reliable enough. There are some hangs/freezes - but they aint that many.

I guess I've been lucky with my SEs, I've never experienced any hangs or lags. :)
Don't believe everything you hear, law of averages, the odd complaints don't make up for the tonnes of positive experiences that don't say anything.

I got a K800i myself and not had a single problem with it. As long as you keep the firmware upto date which you can do on your own computer then you shouldn't really have any more trouble then say owning a Nokia or Moto. I've in the SE market so far had a P800, P910i, K700i and a K800i and all have been solid reliable phone more so then Nokias of late.
