Because Globe (GSM operator in the Philippines) cannot support the huge number of WAP users, they have blocked all wap sites (except their own WAP site, Yahoo mail, CNN and few others). Which means that I can't visit the Sony Ericsson wap site and other sites that offer free downloads.
Is there a way to unblock the sites? C'mon hackers out there, teach me!! I'm really sick of Globe cheating their subscribers.

Hey, you could change to Smart! Theyve got better coverage, and i THINK they havnt blocked WAP sites. Anyway, atleast Globe's WAP is free...
I remember mundets telling me about this, and he tried EVERYTHING, but still couldnt access other sites. Don't bother emailing Globe either, they don't reply.

yeah, Globe Telecom sucks!
I had been calling their customer service but the've got a bunch of idiots on their customer reps.! They dont even know how to answer simple queries like wap/gprs connection settings. Had found one who knows a bit but then she told me to wait about 48 hours for my subscription to take effect, and here i am no connection yet a week after the call.
Guess i just have to switch to Smart, you can connect to their wap site in a breeze!

So SMART do not block wap sites? I don't really mind paying to surf wap sites coz at least I can surf quality sites rather than Globe's homepage... grr!! I don't like paying P20 for a download.
Plus, the Globe homepage is not Sony Ericsson friendly. I can't download wallpapers and ringtones from my T310 and now that I have a T630, I can download ringtones but not wallpapers. I don't understand this... I mean, why can't their site be just compatible to all phones? PinoyCentral is even more SE-friendly than Globe. Geez, Globe is a earning billions of pesos from it's poor subscribers and they can't even offer wap surfing... ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES :D

Haha. Well don't quote me on it! I'm not 100% sure they don't block WAP sites so do research before you go and change. Anyway SG is so expensive! Its P70 for every download, and P160 for a java game.
[/B]this how you do downloads for free...
try downloading a game in globe...make sure you have no prepaid/load
and when it says you have no prepaid or load...save that bookmark
then go to bookmark to edit the bookmark that you save....
and erase some of the java scripts until java? change java? into jar
after changing save the bookmark..dont erase the access points...
then try openning the bookmark that you save and try and try until you get it...it sometimes says no gateway reply because of low signals...i hope this helps..if you got some questions post it here
