Hi

i've had this K750 for a little over a year now, and yesterday, all of a sudden, some keys stopped working..particularly the following keys:

1-6 button
all directional keys of the joystick except the center trigger
the 3 top most keys right below the screen which are usually CALL, Shortcut Key, and UNLOCK

the power button as well.. which is kinda strange... coz if i remove the batteris to shut it off, and then push the power button, it works.. but once it's on i can no longer turn it OFF coz it doesnt work anymore.. really strange.....

all of the phone's function (which i can manage to navigate to and access) seems to work.. including the camera, games, etc.. everything seems to be normal except the keys that arent working...

is this hardware problem? perhaps dusts? (but power button example is too strange for just dust getting in under).. firmware corruption?? VIRUS?? (i understand JAva phones dont get viruses)

Please help..

thanks

well you could try to rest the phone....
but i remember eons back when i had nokia 3310 i had a similar problem, all the technician did to fix it was remove the upper body and keypad, and cleaned the hardware with a cotton swab dipped in some solution, to remove the moisture and dust.....voila! it worked perfectly fine.
And now that you've heard my short narrative you can try the same ....lol

how hard could it be?

lol.. seriously though, im not gona take it apart too much.. wll asses the situation every step and make sure i understand what im doing..if it gets complicated i take it to a tech dude...

will try to send me self a good amount of money first (coz phone repair for SE is mighty expensive here in a NOKIA dominated city)..

well i went ahead and brought it to the SE shop... didnt have time to tinker with it myself..

sadly thought they said it couldnt be resolved here and it has to be sent to SE's main branch in our country.. it'd take at least a month to get word from it and god knows how much to get it fixed.

so i decided to just pull it out and find a local repair shop that can help me
better..

either way, this sucks major azz

could a firmware flash fix this? i mean could a firmware corruption cause this type of problem?
