Any1 knows how to turn off camera LED while taking video and while focusing subject? If this is impossible, may be another camera software can have an option to do this. Anyone knows about this?

I was wondering the same thing previously & your idea is probably the one. There isnt an off option for the light when recording video, i've email nokia about the issues, seems its always on no matter the conditions when recording, not very efficient especially with the battery life.
There are apps, like that Ntorch / flash light thing which u can turn the light on or off, so i guess we would need an app, which has the option to record video but the light off.
I've searched but not found anything like this. Not sure if anyone can modify the nokia camera app or patch it to fix it, since nokia dont seem to think its necessary. Its probably part of their plans for the future so we buy their new phones for some reason (such as light off option when recording video) LOL>

Apart from flash light thing i haven't find any camera application for n73. If any1 knows, is that same thing as nokia's application. Because the nokia camera app will start when u open the camera slider. So i think it's difficult to handle such app. If nokia can do this by an update it's great. Otherwise we've to blame nokia while using this phone.

mmm.... one thing you have to realize with the N73 is that it has an "auto-focusing" camera.
In regular digicams, they have an AF-Assist light, some have it separately on the camera body while some have it integrated with their flash. (like some Canon dslr's).
The latter is the one that nokia did with the N73 (integrated af-assist light). In low-light situations, for the lens to focus properly, it needs to "see" what it's taking a photo of. That "LED light" is needed for it to focus properly.
cheers!
