K750 stick problem.. "down" key is dodgy

Hi Guys

I've always enjoyed my k750.. but lately im getting frustrated with this down button problem (using the stick)

i find my self clicking down to scroll through my sms without many many times until it finally moves down..

Could it be that the down button on it is damaged/dirty?

My phone is set to "tick" whenever i push any button.. and it does tick everytime i push DOWN, though the actual phone does not move its focus down... i have noticed that sometimes when i push down i get a double tick .. like "ti-tick" sound..

how can the tick be triggered and the actual focused not moved?? so it lead me to thinking could it be software problem? or the tick and the actual move down sensor are different..

then i though maybe it's coz my inbox has lots of messages.. so i tried down scrolling in other areas of the phone like the shortcut, the main menu, and other menu items.. and it's all the same..

I've been using my K750i for almost 2 years now and I'm experiencing the same problem as yours. It's hard to go down. Well, I didn't have it changed coz the problem comes and goes. I can live with it. But that's the common problem with the K750i, some of my friends have encountered the same problem and they ended up replacing the "mouse/stick/d pad" or whatever you call it.

them friends of yours that changed the stick thing, did it fix the problem?

it's getting pretty common to me now. starting to get annoyed.

Yeah they had the whole d-pad replaced and its working fine now :) It cost around USD10 here.

As for my unit, I couldn't be bothered fixing it, it comes and goes so I can still live with it :p

It's a common fault with the phone - I have heard the W800i had a beefed up version which fits....but check first !!

I had a K750 and the most annoying part of the phone was the joystick, it is a terrible feature and you always wind up hitting other buttons instead as it gets older.... I now have a K550i and it is amazing, they got rid of the joystick in favor of a D-Pad with center button, PHONE IS SICK, Track ID is the nicest feature made for a music centric phone yet!

well i actually liked the stick feature.. it took a while to getting used to (i do hit other directions accidentaly).. but after a while i got the hang of it.. and it's been perfect for morethan a year.. untill recently when the DOWN direction is acting up..

and now it's back to normal again..perhaps there were lodged dirt in there that got shook off. hehe

I still prefer using a joystick (my old T310, T630 & current K750), I'm really not used to using my wife's K550's d-pad hehe!

ive also had the problem...its cuased by dust getting into the inner workings of the stick
what i do is take the front cover off...and then pull the actualy joystick off and clean under there...it really does work
