The battle of the next-gen consoles is hotting up, with Sony dismissing the Wii as an "impulse buy" while Nintendo claims its machine is in higher demand than the PlayStation 3.

Speaking to the New York Times, Sony Computer Entertainment of America spokesperson Dave Karraker said that 100,000 PS3 units are being shipped into the US each week - and are selling out...

Hmmm bad apples Sony ? ! - a much delayed, overhyped and undersupplied machine didn't exactly catch the hearts of the world as well as the Wii did....

This is spin and Sony should know the publics feet do the walking...quite a few of my die hard PS2 mates waiting for the PS3 have gone the Wii and 360 way which is nearly the same price....

Sony is so smoked up on their crap right now its causing hallucinations. yes the ps3 is powerful and yes its next-gen... but it has very few playable titles right now. For that matter the box is going to own it for most of this yr..

Wii is in a different class. its full-on family entertainment and is cheap.... and yeah it gives hours and hours of entertaining game play

BTW check your Wii remote (may be uk only) the serial number down the side off mine starts FCC ID: POO - WC**... Hmm someone at the FCC having a laugh ?
