GX 20 or v600?

I'm thinking of getting a GX 20 but a v600 looks interesting to better even BUT it doesn't have t9 witch is very enoing because i sent a lot of sms and i never use bluetooth so that is a other point. i think i really like the GX 20 but will it hold for 2 years because thats the time is have to use it on contract:( please understand that t9 is a very imortant tink and that only would be a resson to not buy th v600 for my but i just had to ask on this forum:)

I have had my GX-20 for over 4 months now and have been so pleased with the user friendly operating system. If you don't use bluetooth then this would be the perfect phone.

I take a lot of picture at the highest quality and size and the 2MB of memory has been sufficient. But I'd recommend getting a data cable or IrDA adapter to transfer photos, midis, and videos in/out quickly so u can use the memory for other stuff.

The T9 i don't use, bc of my quick text style. but I must say that the keypad does lag a bit. But if u r happy with using full sentences and complete words then it would be fine. but again... this is only IMO. :cool: I have not regretted getting this phone.

Keep in mind:
Vodafone have no developer support.

Sharp have no developer support => there are very few games/applications for GX-20

Motorola have good developer support => there are many games/applications for V600

The V600's new iTap predictive text system is as good as T9. Arguably better.

Its Bluetooth system seems to work well enough, too.

The display is nice, but not as nice as the GX-20's.

Camera colors are good, but the image is quite blurry at 640x480.

I have worked with the sms system from the v600 and i didn't like it.... and i send a lot of sms in a month so it's very important......

guess i'll get the GX20 because bluetooth is not that important to me and for the sms system and the camera quallity is amazing i have heard...:) but any way thanks:)

I've had my GX-22S for a week now and I'm lovin' it.

The screen is just amazing... u have to see it to believe it.

Camera's always fun as well.


The only complaints that I have is that the phone doesn't have an active flip, so u'll have to open a flip and press a button to answer a call. However, u can just close it to end a call. Also, the screens seem to take a while to "load". It takes a while (less than a second) for the screen to actually turn on (main and external).


Other than that, this phone is without a doubt exponentially better than my previous phone (Motorola T720.. what was I thinking). The only things that I'd say was better on the T720 was that it had an active flip and it was so cheap that I couldn't care less if I dropped it or something, unlike my new GX-22S.


And of course, the T720 was so ordinary and popular... this phone has become the envy of all my friends :D

I've owned both phones, and I prefer the V600. Better looks, compact, excellent RF, decent screen+camera, functional bluetooth, and decent developer support.

The Sharp GX-22 that I had, aside from the amazing screen and camera, had nothing else. average RF, too big/bulky for my taste, almost non-existent developer support, and no bluetooth nor 850 band (a must in the area I live in).

The GX-30 will be interesting to see though :D

the GX-30 is bulky and big to same size as GX20/10 so that's a point and i don't need bluetooth and couldn't wait any longer for a phone!! i'm very happy with it:)

There is indeed a java SDK -- but i don't recall where i found it. I think it is when i was searching for "GX-22 + games" through google. I came upon a forum where they were discussing specific runtime errors the with the library .. anyhow, those guys were all developping for the GX-2x series.
