I have an unlocked VODAFONE VPA COMPACT III (v1605), which I am trying to use with a Bmobile sim card in Barbados. Originally when I tried the sim card I never got a signal, the phone just kept searching despite the fact that I have good covereage. When I insert a pre-paid Vodaphone card the phone works perfectly.
Incase the phone wasn't unlocked when purchased it I have reflashed the phone with a patched radio ROM and then ran HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe on the phone to unlock it. The PDA now shows an ! after the signal symbol and when opened the message says No Service. Both the Network selection and Network bands are set to Auto.
I have used unlocked phones before with no problems.
