While some folks are struggling just to stay out of the hospital when getting too amped up playing their Wii, Mickey DeLorenzo, a 25-year-old living in Philadelphia, decided to meld exercise and gaming together and further substantiate the most obvious research study of the year.

His Wii Sports Experiment started in December of last year and ran for six whole weeks, and while he sought to keep his eating habits constant, he devoted 30 minutes per day to Wii Sports and monitored his weight, BMI, calories burned per session, body fat percentage, heart rate, and physical soreness. Mickey started out at 182 pounds.....

hahahahahaha maybe I should get a Wii to burn off those Holiday pounds.

Looks like the Wii is the latest in weight loss equipment :p

Hmmmm...dubious that much that fast but hey I'm not a big guy so wouldn;t notice anyway...

Any larger framed Wii owners on the site dropped a notch in the belt after Wii'ing ?

Well, Boxing on the Wii really pumps my heart rate up... :P I bet that if I keep playing it daily, it would help a little bit.

I used the same excuse when they first released dance mats to psx...

9lbs over 6 weeks isn't all that much, only 1.5lbs a week, especially if hes gone from being pretty much completley inactive sports wise (ok I know Wii isn't a sport, but it's kind of activity :p ).

I'm a pretty big guy and I have yet to loose any Wii-weight, but I'll keep you posted :P

Found baseball is an arm acher and red steel spits and spurts.

Nothing beats boxing to get you going.....just keep that strap on....:rolleyes:

the photo looks like he's just pushed his stomach out and then puleed it in, i mean heck why is wearing the same stuff, down to the shoes and standing at the same spot, after the many days of playing (assuming he didnt loose 9 pounds in just one day of play), like doesnt he have something else to wear
