hi there,

when you take photos using your digicam - do you still use the cam's viewfinder? Or do you rely solely on the LCD screen?

cheers!

LCD gives me the flexibilty to do above head shots and also means I can see whats going to be coming/walking into the picture to save those blurry passer by shots...

LCD because it takes less work...I'm not going to deny my laziness :p

I use both. Sometimes, when the batteries are very low, I save by turning off the LCD and just use the viewfinder.

Well yes definitely....I hate it when a camera only has an LCD. I mean how hard would it have been to fit a viewfinder, even with the slim cameras??

I use the viewfinder too. But not always. I only use it like half of the time.

LCD - I find (when there is an option anyway) the viewfinder isn't 100% accurate, cutting of a tiny portion here or there.

The LCD gives me information, shows me the difference the effect I'm adding immediately, can add positioning bars etc etc.

Also viewing the LCD, I can see the immediate surroundings because my eye is not stuck to a viewfinder and adjust the camera appropriately if I was capturing something moving which perhaps should be in the photo.

I use the viewfinder sometimes. I like keeping myself in suspense, and that nice feeling you get when the picture turns out okay, makes you feel that it's you who took the picture and not the camera.

I use the LCD when it's very dark and the viewfinder is hard to see in. I also use it when Im feeling a little lazy - and just set everything to automatic. :D

But in buying a camera I will never buy a camera that has no viewfinder.

I was researching on the digital slr's the other day. I think that if you have that kind of a camera - using viewfinders is a must. Only the new olypmus models have a live view lcd.
