Thinking of purchasing one of these and need some questions answered if anyone can be so kind?

I have seen one for sale (unlocked) and am tempted. I currently have a t-mobile sim card and assume after unlocking the phone will work.

However, primarily I want it to use via wi-fi for browsing the internet and also using msn messenger to keep in touch with friends. Will the phone allow I.E and also a messenger app to be opened at the same time? Also do I need a sim card in if I'm just using it for net access via wi-fi?

It's a stop gap for when I don't have my PC powered up. My machine is a bit of a monster in the electricity front and it seemed a waste having my pc on 24/7 when most of the time I checked a few forums and used a messenger service. Thanks very much.

The phone works by running all of the programs in the back ground so you can easily run both ie and msn together but it isnt very fasty and the battery life will die pretty quickly. It can work as a stop gap measure only if you're very patient.

No offence but if your PC is power hungry then why not just turn it off when your not using it? Or even disconnet some of the lights or fans that you may have overloaded it with.

PC's can happily run with a single fan for evrything. I have 2 Dell desktops and neither of them have fans on the heatsink and just a single 120mm fan in the back and that keeps the computer cooler then my old one with 6 fans in.
