View Full Version : K610i or Nokia N80 - help me decide!

Got a free phone upgrade next week but can't decide between these 2 handsets ...

I've never owned an SE phone before but friends tell me how good they are ... On the other hand the N80 uses symbian which opens the doors to a ton of software I can install on it.

Feature wise they are very similar, but the T610i is MUCH smaller, and better looking?

Which would you choose?

Gah ... yep I meant the K610i, sorry.

By similar I mean they are both modern 3g phones with a decent camera and decent media player with memory card storage. By no means am I saying they are identical!!

no probs :thumbsup:its a forum for phone enthusiasts - it would be like telling car fans that a Mazda MX-5 is similar to a Ford GT(2006). Understandable similarities but not so much for it's fans. One definately out powers the other (if 'power' is what you're looking for)

Anyway, it all depends really on what you're looking for in a phone. Personally I would choose the N80: More 'powerful' due to its very high resolution screen, WiFi and Symbian OS, 3rd edition S60 UI.

Also, since they're both gonna be free, you will probably be able to sell your N80 for a higher price.

Thats like comparing a skoda and subaru - K610i is a great phone but sits in the low tier - the N80 however sits in the high tier....

Surely the provider or dealer has offered one for free or similar price - if so snap his/her arm off and go for the N80

OK, thanks for the comments ... What about the K800i then? It seems to be a closer rival to the N80 as it has a 3.2mp camera with autofocus.

N80 still has higher screen resolution and wifi, but K800 has the best camera available on a mobile phone, according to these reviews:

Does anyone know which has the best media player out of these 2 phones? Since my ipod broke a few months ago, this new device will be replacing it.

Stokes - comes down to what else you could want from the phone over imaging quality - I own both and they are both great for daytime shots but the N80 fails in low light.

If you think you'll be running additional apps, linking to wi-fi and like the slider design go for the N80 - if not the K800i is a great choice (just not in that nasty beige !!)
