Will the new megapixel phones that are all due this year take photos that will actually look better on screen or just on computer?

I like photos just stored on my phone. Obviously the screen quality makes a big difference. Sharp is way ahead but others are catching up. But will the megapixel phones look far better that the 300k phones? Do 300k look better than 100k? Its the same question. Remember i mean on the phone display, not computer.

Also if the Japanese have so many megapixel phones how come we cant buy any of them unlocked on any import websites?

You are correct - the biggest benefit of having megapixel phones will be so we can take decent quality pictures to view later on a computer, tv etc. I would love to have a megapixel phone because it would mean that I would have a reasonably high quality camera with me at all times, so I could very spontaneous with what I photograph. Most phone screens are not good enough to display the extra resolution with a megapixel camera, but as phone screens improve, sharper pictures will help.

As for why there are no Japanese megapixel phones here, its because Japan uses different cellular technologies to the rest of the world. Sharp has recently released a megapixel camera phone which works on Japanese networks and is tri-band. Once this comes into general circulation in Japan, you can be sure some phone fanatics will import them to Europe.

Cheers for the quick reply. Yeah i thought there was at least one Tri-band megapixel phone. According to GSMarena.com Sharp they will have the Sharp V801SH soon and the Motorola V1000 soon as well. Both are supposed to have Megapixel cameras and are tri-band.
