Se T650

hi there! this is my first post here, so please be kind...

regarding the T650 sneak, i dare say that it probably won't have a 1.3 MP digicam built in. i'd peg this new S-E model to be an entry to mid level phone so, most likely, it'll just have a VGA resolution digicam.

i can't really say how i can be sure of that though.

Oh really? Haha, okay. But then thered be little difference between that and the T610, T630. There has to be something great and different about it, or else SE wouldnt have released it. Oh well, thanks for you input.

well, it just doesn't seem feasibly that S-E will bung in a top of the line 1.3 MP cam in this one. i doubt that they're that adventurous when it comes down to being on the cutting edge. especially with the influence of sony's conservativeness to temper whatever impulsive urges ericsson designers might have.

mind you, i might be totally off the mark here, so take it with a grain of salt. hell, take a rock.

Well I see you're right. But the phones that SE are introducing in Japan are top-of-the-line. And extremely cutting edge. Well, not really for Japan. Still...there is the rumour that there is going to be the GSM versions of these phones... who knows, we'll just wait and see...

yeah, it really isn't bleeding edge for a high turnover market like japan. the good thing is this, one gets to see the latest gadgets out there plus improvements tend to get implemented faster. the bad is this, the widget you just bought yesterday was so, yesterday...

in japan, if a manufacturer don't keep up with the times, they get left behind. then again, it's true almost everywhere, just more acceleratedly so in nippon.

i'm sure all the cool tech from japan does trickle down to the rest of the world, just a matter of time. look at the sudden availability of the nippon-style clamshells. previously, all we had was those weak clams from Moto (sorry!). i've owned a few of those since the StarTac days and boy, were the hinges weak. my personal preference is for the clams from japan (e.g. Sanyo 8100/5400/5500, Pana GD8X/X70 & Sharp GX-XX) that go 'click' and locks solidly in place when one flips it open. feels solid. gotta love those.

granted, those aren't exactly 'cool' or 'cutting edge', but i think that it's the little touches that count.

well gx30 has a 1.3mp camera and if you ask me t650 is higher end phone that the gx series........
it even says megapixel on the other model and if i'm correct the two models are something like z600-t610

I sort of wish Sony would spin off its Palm franchise with its SE venture :) I think their PDAs designs are awesome (UX with a cell would be cool) :) Plus a palm phone from sony would make sense, since they are just insane with the functionality - just my opinion :)
