As all N93-users know, it is impossible to use more then one button at the same time properly. This is really a shame, beacuse it makes gaming impossible, and this phone could be the first really good gaming phone; it has landscape mode, so you can use the keypad comfortably, a 3D-chip and of course, TV-out.

I think this is a firmware bug, not a hardware bug, because it also occurs when using the soft-buttons near the screen. I assume these buttons are not on the same wiring-subsystem as the rest of the keys. Also, it's a problem that some Nokia's have had before, and that has been solved before.

I've been trying to contact Nokia about this, but to no avail. So, I would like to call all N93-users to action! Let's all mail, call or even write to Nokia, and let them know we want this problem fixed!

Thank you!

what exactly do you mean you cant use more than one button at a time?

I'm guessing he means simultaneous keypresses.

This was a problem with the Nokia 6600, but not the N-Gage, for example. I would be hugely surprised if the N93 (positioned as a suitable-for-gaming phone) had this problem in hardware.

N93 is not designed to be a gaming phone so i guess it will not be fixed because for them, there is no problem. if you will visit http://europe.nokia.com/A4160001 (nokia europe products site) try to high light the feature "GAMING" by clicking on "GAMING" this will high light all the nokia phones that is offering this kind of feature.
even though it is not considered as a gaming phone it does still have decent games to play with. :) cheers

I did not say 'gaming phone', I deliberately chose my words carefully and said 'suitable-for-gaming phone'. I presumed this was the case from the 3D accelerator and landscape option - seems a fair assumption.

Check out this video of a spectecular 3D-game running on a N93:

The N93 has a 3D-acceleration chip. It is also used for the video-features and the TV-out, but it was also sepcifically designed for games.

It would be an awful waste if that game could be rendered, but not played on the N93..

my apologies, i didn't mean to offend you or something. i was merely reacting to the very first post in this thread where he said 'gaming phone' hope this cleared things out. :)

To explain the problem in a little more detail (who knows, maybe Nokia is reading this to):

You CAN use 2 buttons at the same time, it just depends on how you do it:
if you first press and hold a numpad button, you can do anything you whish with the joypad. E.g., keep strafing with Doom, then turn left and right at the same time. You cannot however press and hold a joystick-button, then use a numpad button. This sounds like a software bug to me.

Also, you can't press 2 numpad-buttons at the same time. Whether or not that's a software-prob, i don't know.

About the N93 being a gaming phone... It certainly could be, with the 3D-chip, the landscape mode and the TV-out. Have you all seen the demo of the game Who's Next, rendered on a N93? Looks very promising indeed. If it's playable...

To anyone interested, here's an official download of System Rush Extreme (http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/software/Nokia_N93_system_rush_evolution.sis)

This one is the Demo - geez it looks amazing. I didn't expect that even after seeing videos of it; it's always different when you're actually observing and playing it first hand. I haven't got the nack of the rules yet(I've only just installed it a few minutes ago).

Looks like nokia's really onto a good thing here. More games like that and more phones designed n more powerful enough to take them (allowing users to press multiple conveniently located buttons simultaneously whilst not requiring a reset after playing to continue phone functions) - I'm looking forward to more installments - is "One" ever going to be released

BTW, new firmware update allows 2 keys pressed at the same time, theres a thread on howardforums.com about it and even a video on youtube showing a guy who just got the FW playing DOOM and pressing definitely more than 1 key at the same time

SRE doesn't use more then one button at the same time - together with Snakes (and arkanoid and Pacman) it's about the only playable game atm. But like Shaheen says, the new firmware will most probably fix this :D

Yup, you're right. Sorry for the confusion, I meant other games like Sky Force that require pressing nav pad with main weapon/laser (I don't like autofire).

However, I can't give a definate answer whether it's the N93 in general or particularly my N93 causing the multiple button crash as it
