Hoepfully someone will prove me wrong, but I don't believe Blackberry email will work on the Nokia E70 (US Version) as there is no Blackberry Connect software available (despite Nokia's multiple implications in advertising that this is a blackberry capable phone). I've seen several other internet complaints about this. The RIM site says Blackberry Connect is "coming soon" for the Eseries. The Nokia for Business site has Blackberry Connect downloads for the European models, but not the US.

I've asked Nokia for an update as to when the software will be available, but they had no answer. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know. Thanks!

(bump)

Yeah, this is a pretty lame situation. I would love to hear Nokia's take on why they introduced a touted Blackberry-capable US model without getting the Connect client working on the major carriers...

What carrier are you using?
why pay for blackberry connect, when you can get your email through t-zones on t-mobile for way less than what it costs for blackberry connect.

Ok folks, I somehow got BB Connect working on my T-Mobile so I will try to go through what I did. I recall having done these steps before and it not working, so either I missed a step or T-Mobile has made a necessary adjustment to its network.

On the businesssoftware.nokia.com site, I used the S60PR2 download. I got this by selecting T-Mobile and Nokia E62 from the menus. The page will tell you it is for Latin America and Canada only. I ignored this, obviously.

Once you get it installed, you'll have a new folder called Blackberry. Open it and run APN Wizard. Run it and choose "Blackberry" (not "Instant Email"). Once it's done, exit the app and run the Settings app in the same folder. Tap right until you get to Service Info and select Host Routing. You'll want to make sure the APN setting in here says "blackberry.net".

If this is all good, then back out to Service Info, tap left into Connect or General, push the left smart key (Options) and choose "Register Now." This'll send a ready message to blackberry.net which will put your device's PIN into the network.

You'll get an SMS from Blackberry saying that you're ready to set up your email when it's done.

For there, you need to login to My T-Mobile, select Setup Blackberry Internet Email, and put in the PIN and IMEI numbers that you find in the Blackberry Settings app under the Device Info "tab".

You should be ready to roll at that point. The client will automatically set up a special Blackberry2 connection that only the BB Connect client can use, its APN will be blackberry.net, and it will stay connected to it at all times, unless configured otherwise in the Blackberry Settings app. But it must be connected in order to receive the push signal.

I'd love to hear if this worked for other E70 T-Mobile users out there!
