Hi,
Yesterday I bought a used Nokia 3310 in good condition off eBay. I got it, it turned on and worked fine. It had no SIM card, so I inserted my own which hadn't been activated yet. So everything was working except I couldn't call or text. All was good.

Today I was changing some ringtones, when the phone turned off. I tried to turn it back on, the backlight turned on, then all the pixels went black and it turned off again. This was all quite quick. I tried charging it, but that didn't fix it. I removed the SIM card, reinserted the battery, same problem.

This is quite disappointing, and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Maybe the battery is old.

Our old 3310 used to do this because I wrecked its battery. Any sort of activity would cause the phone to turn off. Charging wouldnt help as of course the battery is wrecked.

This is one possibility. You could try purchasing a new battery for it.

My 3310 is more than 10 years old, had gone through 5 to 6 batteries, severall casings, 4 LCD changes, 2 backlight overhauls, 3 keypads, and had gotten wet several times - yet it's still alive and well. My baby sister's still using it everyday. :D

My suggestion is - try out a new battery, if that doesn't work, try to open the phone and press a little on the LCD - it just might be a little loose.

If it's a 3310, my advice is burn it or run it over with your car, thats the most humane thing to put it out of its misery.

Fuc*ing things, bane of my life.
