SIM Card Registration Failure

my apologies in advance if past threads have addressed this, but i (and i'm sure others that are having this problem) will appreciate advice/input from some of you more knowledgeable people.

i have a nokia n73 and am using it with cingular. periodically, a message will pop up on my phone that reads, 'sim card registration failure'. whenever the message appears; i lose signal, i cannot send/receive calls or txt/multimedia messages.

i'd greatly appreciate any solutions or explanations to this annoying and frustrating problem. thanks.

a similar thing happened to my phone.. I tried rebooting but nothin worked. Take it to a nokia care centre and they'll either fix it or repair it.. In my case they had to replace the sim reader module or whatever its called..
