The second generation Bluetrek headset from Innovi is now on the market. The G2 improves on every aspect of the old design, and gives the other headsets on the market a real run for the money. The G2 is 13g of value. The Bluetrek G2 review (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=633&source=FORUMS) has been posted.

Good review, Michael. Does it have noise cancelling capability?

Michael, how does audio quality, particularly outbound compare to the Jabra BT200 (with a 6310i and t68i)? To me BT200 is the gold standard. I've tried both the HBH 60 and Logitech and returned both based on caller feedback. BT 200 inbound audio is also excellent with the eargel. Downside ,as a big business user, is battery life at 2 hours means it needs to be charged daily.

Looking forward to your review of the Plantronics M3500 which supposedly has sophisticated noice cancelling circuitry.

Best regards

I haven't used a BT200 in a long time, so I can't say.

The M3500 didn't quite make it in time for a review before my trip, so it will have to wait until March.

Michael, I see that you paired the G2 to a laptop. I'm getting a laptop with BT tomorrow, and was wondering what I would use a headset for with it. I'd be interested to hear your ideas on this.

Thanks!

You use a Bluetooth headset for the same reason as you would use a regular wired headset.

Voice chat, games, working in a quiet area, etc.

That's what I figured, but didn't know if I was missing something.

Thanks, Michael!

It would be interesting to understand how these guys get the price SO low with such a great battery when most other headsets (and ones that seem to be equal in terms of quality with this one) are like double the price.

It just makes me worried about the quality of it.

Michael, I'm 6'2" and don't know if my ears are considered large, but I'm also nervous about the fitment issue you brought up. It looks like a great package, otherwise.

Why did you return the Logitech?

Callers consistently mentioned that it sounded like a hair dryer in the background whenever I spoke. Might have been a defective unit.

I am also concerned about the issue of how this thing may fit in my ear. I currently have a SE HBH-65 that is pretty comfy but the speaker seems like it needs to be more forward to fit perfectly in my ear. Michael is it possible you could post a pic with the HBH-65 and the G2 side by side to compare how the G2 might fit for me? If you could lay them speaker side up, with one headset above the other that would be awesome.

I can't. I am in Paris now, far away from my photo studio and the headsets.

bluepear is a very odd site. the prices seem too low, there are no "terms and conditions" or information about shipping costs on the main page (though i heared they say it's free shipping worldwide, which seems unreasonable). it seems really unreliable.
what do you guys think?

On the question of shipping.

All US orders are shipped UPS ground. Your email is entered with the shipping information and a 'shipping notification' is generated by UPS upon scanning of your item. An expected delivery date is available on the UPS site one receiving this notification.

All Intl orders including those to Canada, are shipped USPS First Class Prioity. There is no tracking information available for these orders. Customers should allow 4-10 business days for delivery.

All shipments are made Mon-Friday. We aim to ship all US orders placed by 3pm, same day, and all International orders placed by 3pm the following day, as there are customs forms to be filed with shipment.

We hope this clears up any confusion.

Also many people have submitted questions via our web page and have entered their reply email incorrectly, and therefor attepmts at repsponding are returned undeliverable. Please be sure to double check your email before submitting. Also, may quetions can be answered by visting...www.bluetrek.com

We can be emailed directly at support@bluepearwireless.com.

Oh, so all of a sudden, it's the customers fault again.
FYI I haven't emailed you, but was very interested in getting one of your headsets... Maybe I should reconsider if this is your approach towards customer service.

BTW run a spellchecker before posting, corporate communication deserves to be flawless.

I wish I had looked in the forums before purchasing. I just ordered a G2 from bluepear. I got the confirmation email. How long does it usually take to deliver in the US? At least I'm only out $80 if it goes bad.

I've been looking for someplace to get the G2 for a while now. The specs look great. I had a Plantronics M3000, but returned it. The sound quality was great, but it was really heavy. Heavy enough to cause discomfort if worn more then 10 minutes or so.

This looks like a great deal. I just hope I get it now. :(

I placed an order on Bluepear right after reading Michael's review. Sent a mail to them asking the status after a few (two or three) days, then they told me my order had been processed, and has been shipped to me via USPS. I live in Taiwan, so the estimated delivery time is about one week. And I did get the package within one week. I ordered the headset along with the car charger.
This is maybe my first time ordering something w/o doing further study or survey, only by Michael's review. Bluepear's web site is not as informative as other much experienced e-retailers, but I did get the package, and I like the headset (with one minor problem, I'll put in a separate note).

As I put in an earlier message, I've recieved the BlueTrek G2 headset for days. I'm quite happy with the headset except one minor thing.

I can talk to BlueTrek G2 for outgoing and incoming phone calls, but I'm not able to record voice tags using the headset. That is, it seems that the headset is only activated when a call is established. I'm not sure if I missed any settings on my SE T68i, but I could record voice tags using Nokia HS-3W (only used it for one day). Any comments/advices will be highy appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

You get what you pay for, Do not buy this junk!!!!!! It took over a week for me to receive it and when I did it only worked for two days and now it is completely dead since it will no longer power on. Than I send an e-mail to Bluepear to send me a new one and they provide an RMA number but guess what..... I have to pay to ship it back to them and than wait for them to send me a new one. Here is their disclaimer on the form that they sent me.

"When returning both defective and non-defective merchandise we require that all returned items are 100% complete and in new condition, in their original box, with all packaging, instruction manuals, and accessories included. All returns should be sent via an insured and trackable shipping method. We will not be responsible for packages lost in the mail."

I post various PDA sites and will let everyone else know but do not buy this product or anything else from this company.

I don't live in US, so I don't know what's the normal case there. Is the above requirements too strict? It looks reasonable to me. BTW, I think we should seperate BlueTrek (the company of the product) and Bluepear (the company that's selling it) in our discussions.

If you are going to sell a product and advertise than you should also take responsibility for it when something goes wrong. When you purchase something at a brick/mortar store that has something go wrong with it do they usually tell you "Sorry, We are not making any money on this and it is a losing situation for everyone"? That as what Bluepear told me and that is the last thing I want to hear especially after it only worked for two days.
If I was returning it for a refund I would have no problem paying for the shipping. I only asked for an exchange on the product since the unit was defective. Why should I have to pay for the shipping of a defective product?? I am the one who is inconvenienced, I certainly would not penalize a customer for sending them a bad apple.

I have also ordered a bluetooth connector for my pc, and i was hoping that i can use the headset to chat on msn messenger - would i be correct? Ill post any feedback that i have on the g2 - i am hoping to recieve it within the next couple of days.
