Motorola H700 range connection issues

I have been have problems with the connection between my H700 and my RAZR v3c. I'm lucky if I get 7 feet of range out of the connection. When I stick the phone in my pocket the connection gets all distorted and starts to lose signal. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix? My old Mot BT headset worked a lot better than this.
