Guys and gals has anyone noticed the rapid increase in the overweight and more disturbingly the way they dress ? loads of TV programmes covering it but suddenly the world appears to have gone "large"
I'm no snob and have some overweight friends and family but to see an 18stone woman in a boob tube with her flab hanging over her belt/trousers is just sick...likewise the smell of an obese man/woman on public transport on a hot day is just ill..
Girls I'm sure seeing a man hanging over his belt or wheezing walking up one flight of stairs must be equally as repulisve...
I appreciate some people simply gain weight without eating to much and they have a sow metabolism but seeing seeing an oversize woman dressed like Heidi Klum is ill...which brings me to bingo wings and kankles....I could go on all day but I have to eat lunch
Annoys you - accepted it - haven't seen it - your view ?

lol - funny. One of the last threads I posted on was of a similar topic.
My opinion on it - well kinda laid back. Different folk - different strokes. There are chubby chasers who would find your description just oh so delightful and irresistable!

I would probably agree with you on the point of dressing in clothes you just can't get away with. That's not just against obese, but for everyone...lol. To explain, everyone has different shapes (body wise). Some people can look good in one outfit, and some don't. Regardless of size, its just fact.
Not being the fashion police or nothing, just belive in accentuating what you have, whilst still being comfortable with your image.
As for the rapid increase in weight of most people, yeah its happening.
More processed foods...less natural unprocessed...more convenient forms of food/fast food/microwaved etc etc, the modern lifestyle, over reliance on motorised transport...

Not being funny mate its a genuine human crisis - granted in 15-20 years we (average weight pepps) will have far more leg and ass room as the norm will be that bit wider to accomodate the bigger boned...but thats the only plus point I can see...
We are leading toward obesity, diabetes and worryingly even more drive-thrus.

not funny as in the issue is funny.
Funny in the context of "strange" how it's like one of the last things I posted about. Anyway...still editing last post

Need to promote sports both both men and women, that will reduce obesity and also people can stay slim without the ridiculous diets. The couch potato phenomenon is a dangerous thing.
I think schools have a responsibility to promote sports and also for sports to be very competitive so that people are driven to be better and hence better shape.

Seriously i got to agree with you joe.... i saw something similar the other day this female like 8 times my size wearing a pair of low riders with her undies showing and a tight tshirt.
and omg the smell
i got off the train... it was that bad
I used to weight almost 100kg (about 15 stone), and I hated it. I dressed in things that would hide me as much as possible, and my self confidence was shot. I weight about 68kg (10 stone or so) now and I'm so much happier for it. I go to the gym regularly, and I'm much more confident. I think there is an epidemic going on at the moment, and as much as I don't have any problem with overweight people, I do think something has to be done in society.

I find it sad...
That some people will eat and eat.... maybe as a way to get over whatever problems they have in life?

You guys keep mentioning the smell!
Thankfully I've never been in close quarter situation to experience it. Could you describe the smell?

I walk 2 km a day to fro work. I can buy a motorcycle, or ride a PUV, but I prefer to walk, brisk walking to be exact. I only eat 1 small sandwich for lunch and for dinner, a light meal with rice, breakfast, cereal and fruits, lots of water in between. I've never been overweight, and I've been doing this routine for just 6months now, and I actually didn't lose a pound of weight. To tell, I have relatively fast metabolism, I could eat a ton everyday without getting fat.
This is just to show, according to my observation of other people. We are eating too much. If I say we only need enough food to maintain good health, you should be eating just half of what most is eating..
I love food, I could eat a lot without worries, but indulgence is also bad to your mind, not only to your body...

Now then guys, i just wonder how many of you are over the age of about 30?.
When you hit that age (roughly) your metabolism tends to slow, add to that the fact that you tend to be less active in your middle years, and drive everywhere,
I put on about 2 stone in the last ten years, despite my calorific intake remaining about the same, I find it amazing how many really fat people actually JOG.:D
