Hi guys, if you could help me out that would be great. I'm in the UK, looking for a phone that meets the following specifications and I just cannot find one that has all of these features!...

- full web browser
- outlook
- camera
- video calling would be nice but not essential
- a decent calendar
- slide to answer would be nice but not essential
- the smaller the better

I have seen an orange spv c600 that my friend has but it doesnt have video calling or office mobile.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
David

good suggestion but there's one more requirement.. it's a phone that I can find on ebay.co.uk relatively easy as I need it soon!

i bought an Eden M600 kind of by accident. Hopefully it'll do the job.

yeah eten... its pretty bad. I just cant get used to the tiny on screen keyboard, plus the battery on this particular one seems awful... I think I'll go for a normal phone with an email function and just lose the office idea.

both of those look pretty cool but i think i'm going to go against the pda idea now. possibly get something like an orange spv-600 which is as i understand it a normal phone with outlook on it. that way i dont have to use that little stylus!

David: just so you know - there's two versions of Windows Mobile 5. One is for PDA (called pocket pc) and one is for smartphone (called MS Smartphone - all these terms are interchangeable).

There's generally hardware differences but one major one is that pocket PC uses a touchscreen and Smartphone does not - MS Smartphones are designed to be operated more like a conventional phone (eg Nokia S60 device).

Hmm, many ppl grumble about how having a stylus is bad... I think this is wrong for 2 reasons - *even* if you don't like the stylus:

1. You can use your fingers... and the kicker IMO
2. You can use d-pad, buttons etc *anyhow* - so what is difference?

Just my opinion - but I think the stylus can be looked at as a "bonus" feature if you don't ever use it.

Personally I find stylus generally faster for GUI use in most situations, I also use transcribing a lot... it functions in a far superior manner as a game controller for some games as you can use analogue controls for simulations (eg. Flight, Shattered Worlds) and as a pointer for games that involve lotsa clicks & pointing (eg. Warlords 2, Fade, Text Twist).

You aren't limited to stylus IMO is what I'm saying - you can still use d-pad & buttons...

BTW - for what you say you need to use your proposed device for I'd recommend getting a QWERTY keyboard device... I can (er, could) write a book on my QWERTY thumbpad (MDA Pro), try doing that on a number pad ;).
