My dealer told me the last time I saw him (mid January) "probably around as much as the current price of the 6600". I had a look at it, and it was $NZ899.

It will be between the 6220 and 6600 in price i think. I am guessing no more then AU$800.

There is no way IMO that it'll retail for anything more then a 6600, at least in countries like UK, AU, USA.

I'd hope so! But i've got a feeling it'll be over $800.

Btw, Edge: Some places in Sydney are still selling the 6600 for AU$900+ !!! and you thought NZ$899 was expensive!

No dude, cdover said it was expensive. The store I get my phones from is the cheapest I've ever come across, and I've been to quite a few phone stores in my time :) He also gives me the best service I've come across to date.

^^

Does he import them though? Is it a NZ store?

phone prices GREATLY vary in AU. I was doing some shopping yesterday and the 6600 varied from $950 at Fonezone to $800-$850 at Vodaphone and Allphones. It just pays to shop around. I still cannot see how they could charge more then a 6600 for this, as its not a smart phone and has a smaller screen.

Yes, as I said previously, he is a parallel importer, and I can assure you it's an NZ store. I've shopped around LOTS of different cellphone places in Akld, and his prices (and service) are the best I've come across so far.

i been looking at current 6600 prices n stuff i reckon it will be between 700 and 800 in AU

Well i just hope it wont be too expensive! The place i spoke to today told me that the SE T630 will be $684 when its out in a week or two, and Nokias are always more expensive, so perhaps $700-$800 is a fair estimate.

SE T630 retails about AU$600-650 here in Singapore.

Does anyone have any idea (or would like to hazard a guess) at how much the 6230 will cost in the UK? Even though it's a really feature-packed handset, as someone has already posted it's not a Smartphone so surely they couldn't charge as much for it as, say, the 6600? I want to buy it sim-free too, so I'm not expecting it to be cheap!
Any info or your thoughts on this would be appreciated!

Maybe 50-70 pounds cheaper than 6600? I am not in the UK so this is really just a wild guess. But probably it is somewhere/slightly above the half way mark between the prices of 3660 and 6600, no? :)

Well lemme tell you the prevailing rates in india all these are sim free phones.

200$ = 6600
100$ +- 25$ = 3200,7250i, t610

How many kilos do you need?

Manz!:D

Yes, personally I think the Nokia 8310 is perhaps Nokias greatest phone of all time. It had seriously big memory capacity at a time when most phones could only manage about 100 numbers and LOTS of SMS space too (150 messages). The screen was brilliant, it had lots of games, decent internet access. It had it all, and was one of the phones I'd kept for the longest (apart from the 7650 - another amazing phone). It also happened to be reliable, small and pretty damn robust too!

Agreed. I'll be hanging onto my 8310 and using it as a "backup" phone.

I wouldn't mind one again (but they hold their value pretty well too). Anyway the 7210 has kind of replaced it and seeing as their similar prices on Ebay UK I wouldn't get an 8310 right now since the 7210 does a lot more for the money.

My 'backup' phone happens to be the 7650 anyway - which I think truly is the best Nokia to date in terms of functionality, features and price (considering it's been superceded now). It was the first proper smartphone which fit in your pocket and ran a proper OS without becoming too PDA-like.

Mmm, but even the 6230 can do more...still, it's what I'm hanging out for.

Yup. Call me crazy but I would rather have my 7650 than the 6230.

I suppose I am. I don't really like the 6230. I'd rather have a huge clear screen than a tiny pixelated 128x128 crap, no matter what features. Hahah, I'm probably going to get killed seeing as I wrote that in a 6230 thread :D

p.s. Die 6230, die.

Wouldn't the 6510 automatically be considered better than the 8310 since it's basically a dualband 8310 with higher resolution screen and radio? I'm in the U.S., and I've tried SEVERAL Nokias but just couldn't find one better suited for me than my 6590i (6510).

I had a 6510. I have never seen such poor cell reception on a cellphone in my life. I swapped it for an 8310 with a dude at my work, my reception problems totally disappeared. I'd never buy a 6510 again, ever.

Every time I buy a new cellphone, I always test the reception in an area I know the reception isn't too flash.

well at the upcoming 3GSM forum, nokia will certainly unlease more new fones and dun count on having everything in one fone cos no profit-seeking company will likely wanna do that.... besides nokia has never been a first-mover when it comes to technology. they usually wait for one technology tobe proven before they undertake to make fones with new features.

My room would have been a good place to test reception about 6 months or more ago! It fluctuated so much it wasn't funny, sometimes i had full reception sometimes it would just drop out, and i picked up 11 different suburbs!!!!!
