Hi to all :)

I'm an Italian boy

10 august I come in Usa :D:D:D

I go to California, Nevada, Arizona

I would like to have umts with my jasjar, possible ?

Think better solution is to buy a Sim card reloadable when we landed in LA

What operator is better for this needed ?

Thks

welcome to mb webstyler... its not possible to use the jasjar in us. Unlike europe gsm 3g operates on 850/1900 bands which is diff from the normally universal 2100 wcdma/umts band.

L.a u should be able to pickup t-mobile comfortably. CCT should be able to help you out with this

Well, you CAN use the Jasjar, just no 3G. Cingular offers 3G, but like jayesh said it's on completely different frequencies that the Jasjar and most other 3G phones don't support yet.

You can easily pick up a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card, which is the recommended because the Jasjar doesn't have the other frequency that Cingular heavily uses, either through a Kit (that's like $50) or I think you can just ask for a SIM card from a T-Mobile store. If you really want broadband speeds, you could sign up for the T-Mobile Hotspots pay-as-you-go, but of course that requires being at a Hotspot like Starbucks and such. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Well the GPRS usage is deducted from your credit load. You can use it as much as you want as long as you refill it ;)

That's on a monthly plan, in which case you would need to keep it for at least a year. I'm assuming that this is only a temporary visit, and so you wouldn't want to keep a contract for a monthly plan.

Hence, your only option is prepaid. Unless of course you wanna try out Cingular's GoPhone plan. It works like prepaid in that you don't need an annual contract or credit check, but it's still a monthly plan that includes more than prepaid. You can check it out here: http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/wireless-phone-plans/gophone-pick-your-plan.jsp?RFlow=A&zip=79912&_requestid=74674
