I have called six different wholesalers and distributers today regarding the W950i Walkman phone.

I have been anticipating since the first press release.

Anywho, the response that I have gotten from everyone is *drumroll*...

Two more weeks!

Two said that they already have it in, but are waiting for street date. That means so much for the people who can't get SE Customer Care to commit to a date.

Get ready you guys, it's coming soon. I'm already putting my M600i up for sale.

yay! im not much of a music person on a phone but the W950 is better then the N91 only comparing the size. N91 has a lot bettery features.

I'm glad the SE has flash based memory instead of the hard drive like the Nok. And that it's less clumsy. And that it has UIQ/touchscreen. And that it's fingerprint resistant.

Not sure, but I think the w950i will be more expensive than the n91 when it comes out.

I've been looking for a pda'esque handheld that plays music well, this certainly fits the bill.

The W950 should be around 600USD at debut, and fall pretty rapidly within the next two months to around 375, 400USD.

I don't use the camera anyway, since I carry a digicam with me at all times.

U sure it's coming out in 2 weeks time? Pardon me for asking as 2 wks from wat u stated is on the 5th aug 06.

Another thing that i wanted to ask, the price for the w950 falls so rapidly within such a short time? Then I got to really consider if I am going to buy in when it comes out. :(

My budget 4 that phone will be around SGD 600 to 800+ max. No more then that.

Most anticipated phones drop rapidly after inital demand is met. My M600 dropped 300USD on eBay two weeks after I got it. I ordered it on launch day.

the M600 was the quickest dropping phone I noticed recently. It dropped at least $200 within a month (2 or 3 weeks to be exact). I guess $400 is the normal price for the M600. The $600+ was the natural market mark-up.

The W950i will probably be $150 ~ $200 more than the M600, and the P990i another $200 above it.

Wow, in that case i gonna wait 4 at least 2 weeks b4 I can start to buy that 950. So sad.. I been anticipating since like a mth already.

Actually, the W950 is positions around the M600, with only a slight markup. Most M600s go for about 350USD now, and the W950 (when it settles) should be around 400USD.

The P990, however, should be far above that amount. Around 650USD when it's settled in.

p990 is out but 950 still not out yet.. So sad.. Wonder the next phone to come out will be 950 =(

It better not. Everyone keeps pushing back the date on the 950. It's getting tiring.

if this is the case then ill wait a bit and get this phone. the lack of camera could atleast make its cost not so bad. SE have a high tendency of jacking up phone prices when released dramatically more than any other phone company.

But four gigs will cost ya a premium with SE.

Wise decision .

Right now I have the w900i, which has alot of the same features.
