It's been a long time coming, but we have finally posted our X70 review. We had some problem with our first test unit, and then got caught up in the holidays and all that. In any event, the review is finally finished. See what the verdict is.Finally posted: the Panasonic X70 review (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=607&source=FORUMS)

Great review, Michael!

Just wondering if you could elaborate a little more about the problems with this phone's T9...

I've used a G55 before, and my biggest complaint with the T9 on that phone was the way punctuation was handled...I didn't like the way I had to keep hitting "0" to get different symbols, and if I screwed up I had to delete and start over...even though the t68i has kind of slow text-entry, I like how smoothly the system works.

However, I really like how the X11 (http://www.panasonic.com.cn/mobiles/x11/x11_index.html#) looks, and I have been told that it is essentially the same (in terms of functionality) to the x70. I'll just wait till the price drops (they want the equivalent of US$450 for it over here...no thanks...)

Hmmmm, how did the punctuation work.....the problem was that I wrote my notes for that review a while ago. Some as early as early December when the original review was to go up. The Bluetooth problem delayed that since I had to get another handset and then Christmas and all sorts of stuff.

I do recall the T9 being a pain in the ass, but I don't remember it having a punctuation problem like you mention. I *think* that it worked well in that regard, but I honestly can't be certain at this point.

There must be somebody in the forums that has one that could comment.

Could you share with us how you managed to get the X70 to connect to your iPAQ as a dial-up modem via GPRS? Many people have tried, especially in the Howard Forums, and no one has managed to get it to work properly yet.

I bought my girlfriend an x70, and have found it to be a pretty hopeless phone. The UI really needs work, as does the camera, which has intermittent operational failure, as well as being utterly useless in indoor condition -- images captured display blue dots and streaks.

BT is poorly implemented as well.

All in all, a phone that shows a lot of promise from the spec sheet, but really disappointing in real-life.
