k790a Availability

Just wondering if anyone has any special info as to the release date for this phone in the US. I saw one pop up on Ebay a couple weeks back and get bid up rapidly, but it disappeared before the auction ended. The k800 series is all over the place, but no dice for we Tmobile EDGE folk with the 790a.

Are they going to do with it like they did with the T610 and actually have the cell companies support/brand them?

Any info would be nice, thanks.

There's no rumors about that yet, although I suppose it's possible.

Well I just checked Sony's page as I do periodically, and the Coming Soon star is gone from the k790a! They added links to downloads for the phone and some more information.

Now to find one :D

It was released yesterday.

welectronics.com and myworldphone.com has them. I found that out by repeatedly calling them about a different phone.

N73 is out to, BTW, since yesterday.

Just emailed welectronics, they only have the k790i. Resellerratings on myworldphone.com are so low that I'm not even going to bother contacting them.

it wont take long now. the K800 is released, so just give it a little more time.

Any reason one I should not choose the 800 over it's baby brother ? even if the prices were the same ...

Besides different frequencies and high speed network availabilities, the 800 has a second camera on the front at 640x480 I believe for video conferencing or something.
