I cannot get to fast forward any video on this phone, wether it be a downloaded 3GP file, or a recorded video. the manual states to hold the joystick right = FF, and left = RW, but it does nothing...

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks
Wilson

So u must be going to file manager n playing ur videos??? Well u cannot fast forward there. For that u must go to the music player (from the main menu) n then sel video n then the one u want to play... The same thing is applicable for songs too...

This wasn't directed at me, but I saw the k800i on the site that I always order phones from for $560+ s&h. Can i post a link here or is it against the rules?

Your not advertising as such, recommending, just like what the list of mobile phone retailers thread is for , your allowed to post it.

Guys, I've been playing about with the video player and found that while in 'portrait' view mode, push down on the navi key and you go into slo-mo and by pushing up on the key you go into pause. :D

Just press the left soft key to restart your video although, I did experience a slight delay before the sound returned if left on pause for a few minutes. (I was testing using the pre-installed SE Demo Tour). In 'landscape' view mode, the positions are transposed ie you still push DOWN and UP (these would be left and right with the phone upright).

Is the music player similar to that of the w800i, if so im definately upgrading to this fone as the W850 only has 2 mpx camera. Is it big?? i have seen pictures and it looks it but i would buy it anyway. any changes to the UI over w800. any info would be appreciated!!

The music player is 'similar' to the W800i - the only difference being that there might not be as much music file organisation as in the K800i (I've not fully tested to confirm this), MegaBass and, of course, the branding. IMHO, the music player is as good otherwise.

It's a 3G phone so yeah, it's slightly bigger - longer in fact (5mm). It's very close to the same width and depth. The weight is up by about 16g, which I kinda like

Generally speaking the UI is exactly the same.

Hope this helps ..

Here's a link to the Sony Ericsson UK page for the K800i: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pp1_loader&php=php1_10407&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10407

As for the camera .. Sony haven't taken it lightly to allow the use of the 'CyberShot' branding and FWIW the camera lives up to this mark, IMO. Don't get me wrong - there will be people out there who will totally slag it off, but for me, a camera this good IN A PHONE remember, it's one of the best I've used. The one thing I miss though is the light .. yeah, I've now got a fab xenon flash but pity it didn't keep the LED light ala W800i. Some blurring appears around the edging (what digicam doesn't) and digital zoom is worth a jot on any camera! BestPic and the Image Stabiliser functions are big features for me :D :D
