I/R and self starting

Help. When I use the IR port to get stuff on the phone it won't switch the IR off after its not had any contact and I have to switch the phone off the stop it and then for some reason the phone switched itself back on. Anyone know whats going on?

It should turn off after a while. You can't press a button to turn it off, so you just have to wait :)
