View Full Version : Siemens S55 - Bluetooth capabilities
What do you think about Siemens S55, due to its Bluetooth functionality ? I use SE HBH-30 with it and i have no complains. What is your personal ladder of the 5 most compatible Bluetooth handsets ?
1. Sony Ericsson T68i
2. Siemens S55
3. Sony Ericsson P900
4. Nokia 6650
5. Sony Ericsson T630
I haven't tested only the Nokia

Interesting question.
1 Sony Ericsson T68i
2 Nokia 6820
3 Siemens S55
4 Sony Ericsson Z600
5 Nokia 6310i
The S55 is edged out by the 6820 (no pun) only since it does not require a stupid, and long, modem init string when using the phone as a modem for another Bluetooth device.
The T610 had too many quality problems with the audio in headset useage. The P900 doesn't support Hands Free, like the P800 before it.
The 6310i is good in later firmware revs. I still wish Nokia didn't use HV1 for voice, though, since it eats up battery power.
The Panasonic X70 works reasonably well, but still has some issues - especially with early firmware revs.
I have yet to use a T630, and I don't want to assume anything about it working well.
The Sony Ericsson T39 and R520 do a nice job with Bluetooth, but they are just too old. Not sure how current the Bluetooth system in the R520 is with current firmware, as Bluetooth v1.1 was not even out when the R520 was introduced.
The Nokia Series 60 devices don't support the headset profile, and Nokia makes it difficult to use with non-Nokia Bluetooth adapters on a PC. At least that was the case when they still made such adapters, perhaps that has been removed from the firmware now.
You can lump the 8910 and 8910i into the 6310i pile. Mostly the same Bluetooth system as best I can tell.
I think that pretty much covers it.
Thanks, Michael. I don't pretend to be " the-guy-who-has-tested-all-the-freakin-phonez-with-all-the-freakin-bluetooth-junk " :), so it's normal if my post has flaws.
Maybe i like 6650 and P900 too much, i agree with your opinion about Nokia Bluetooth modules and devices.
I meant Z600, not T630. My fault. I've worked more with T630, but i still prefer Z600.
I don't like one thing in R520m and T39m. The standby Bluetooth mode really chews up the battery.Of course, when i saw for first time the T39m, i began to make plans how to steal it from my father.
