Firefox all the way!!!
Funny you mention that, I'm generally a Firefox user, but I'm trying to use Opera 9 for the day today to get a feel for it.

Firefox as well. But I would switch to IE when I can't open a website, that happens rarely.

What are widgets? How do you use them?
In Op 9 - there's a new tab called "widgets".

Get an extension called IE Tab, it lets you open an instance of IE inside a Firefox tab to see the pages that don't render right. No more switching to the different browsers!

I tried Opera once...literally once, but I'd gotten so used to Firefox so that's what I use now. Can't imagine living without Ctrl+T tabbing!!

What do you mean? Ctrl+T opens a new tab in Opera, same as in Firefox.

I'm on firefox now... I was once naive and thought IE was the best
I am now wiser (thanks to Brad) and Firefox all the way, although I have never used opera

Used firefox, tried Opera but I was just too use to some of my additional Firefox plugins, and Opera didn't really offer anything extra I wanted to use.

I guess I meant in general, or more in relation to IE. I think the the thing that threw me off on Opera was that it was busy in comparison to my Firefox setup, and I didn't really feel like switching since I was already so used to Firefox so I didn't have enough motivation to personalize Opera so I just gave up on it. Should I not have?

Well, in my day or so of using Opera, I can say it is much faster than Firefox rendering pages, and it comes very close to being number one, but there are some extensions in FF that I really appreciate - namely Flashgot, Sage, and Foxmarks. Had there been alternatives to these in Opera, I may well have considered switching full time.

I like using Opera. Firefox doesn't have 'mouse gestures' yet, have they? I find opera faster too.

There is a mouse gesture extension for Firefox that adds all the gesture features of Opera and then some.

Why's it faster:confused: And what do those extensions do?
It renders pages faster, I don't know why, I didn't program it. Pages just appear and are usable quicker. As for the extensions, a quick trip to addons.mozilla.org will answer your questions.

Does Opera 9 have options to 'auto detect' your network settings? If there is, pls tell me how to do that. Last time I used opera didn't see one, so I wasn't able to use it :)

I would have to pick FireFox.
I have both installed. FireFox just meets my needs as a user. There are many useful plugins, like the I.E. tab fore mentioned, ad blocks, script blockers, split links, tab protector, tab copier, duplicating tabs, reloading after a crash/accidentally closed tabs. Just nice features that makes browsing more effient and thus more of a pleasure.
Two features I really like about Opera though is the default ability to zoom in on pictures as well as text, and also the fact that if I close it, re-open it say months or minutes later, the tabs I left will still be there as I left it.
But that's not enough to make it my default browser. I haven't bothered with Opera add-ons. FF is fine at the moment and works with more websites (especially since the i.e. plugin...although has a tendancy to crash)

I have a cousin doing some Microsoft Certified Computer Science degree and he refuses to use anything but I.E.
I find it very limiting when I'm browsing. It's only ever used now when a stupid spyware activates it.
