Hi there..
Saw the E61 available with a 1 year T-Mobile subscription for $40 a month. Id say great deal and specially since it all goes into corporate expenses! :)..
Question, comparing the N80 with the E61, is the only difference the absence of a camera and FM radio???..
Also, since the N80 has higher pixel density and the E61 has a physically larger screen, how does that compare in real life.
Any thoughts, anybody..
Thanks already!

i havent seen the e61 in real life but i doubt that the screen would be very different to the n80. The n80 has a higher resolution but the e61 is QVGA so its still quite good.

I think the shear size of the E61's screen (2.8") overides the small yet high res N80 screen (2.1"). Most feedback suggests that the E61 is a fab device.
as far as I am aware, the battery life is better on the E61 than the N80. That could be a factor, but if you do not need a camera get the E61
EDIT: check out this thread: http://forums.mobileburn.com/showthread.php?t=16145&highlight=e61+brad
It has Brad's inisght into the E61.

Wow.. though the N80 screenshot is rather a blown up version, while the E61 seems to be scaled down? or is it exact screen size ? .. No question, the N80 resolution is horrificly amazing!

haha.. no youre not.
As you can see, the N80 screen's resolution is higher than the E61, and since the screen of the N80 is smaller (size wise), it means that all the pixels are smaller hence why the text on the N80 looks smoother. So if you had both phones infront of you and you were comparing both screens, the N80's screen would look sharper(if thats the right word to use).
Still, the 320x240 resolution is not bad.. it just doesnt look as good as the 352x416 resolution of the N80.
someone with more "screen knowlegde" can probably give a better explanation than mine..

Aha, yes.. so things just seem stretched out and bit pixelated on the E61 compared to N80.. personally, Im pretty much set on the W700i.. and then waiting to see the N93..
The E61 is a great bargain on a 1 year contract and would be free for me as my comapny be paying my phone bill.. so just intersting if its worth it!

At a comfortable(not geeky/nerdy/perverted) reading distance usually not less than 1ft away, my eyes could still resolve both phone's individual pixels. But given the speed of my thinking process, I can only see the n80's screen as prettier/smoother but I can resolve more details with e61. Ironic, given n80 has greater pixels, but isn't cramping all that pixels in a 2.1" also ironic??
as far as I am aware, the battery life is better on the E61 than the N80. That could be a factor, but if you do not need a camera get the E61Yes, battery life is worlds apart from the N80, I get great life out of it. It does have its quirks, but the E61 is my favourite phone at the moment.
As for the screens, side-by-side the N80 does look sharper, but apart you would be hard pushed to tell much of a difference. I'm more than happy with the screen res, and the large, landscape screen is the real winner for me.
