hey i wanna buy a motorola slvr on ebay and i have some questions

-They are all "unlocked" what does that mean

-They say they can be used on T-mobile, is that true?

-and how do you actually activate the phone when u get it?

When it means unlocked, it means you can use it with any carrier that uses the GSM technology, such as T-Mobile. Hence it is true that you can use it on T-Mobile. You "activate" it by putting a SIM card that you got from T-Mobile, and that's it.

ya but how do you actually get the service? do you have to go to tmobile, buy a different phone and get service on it, and then take out the sim card on that phone and put it in the slvr?

You can buy just sim cards without phones.

I'm not sure if T-Mobile USA, assuming you live in the U.S., has just a SIM-only, but you could just as easily get the free Nokia with activation and just have that as a spare.

But yeah, if you don't already have T-Mobile, then you have to open an account with them, since that's how you get the SIM card.
