With GTA4 not coming out for a long while, I may just have to look for other similar alternatives....

What's the best and what's the worst? (Any platform)

well....i asume that providing a link would be rather illeagle,however there is a version of 'GTA: liberty city stories'(a PSP title) doin the round on the net, which works on the PS2, an i assure u...it DOES work, iv seen it working...so why go for a cheap rip-off when u can have the original thing :D

Soorry, I meant I was just interested in your opinions about similar format games like Saint's Row.

well,there is GUN ( same thing,but with horsies and desert towns :p )
we have streets of LA wich is HUGE,but sucky sucky gameplay. (with a new version that came out recently,don't remember wich title)
There is gangsters ( of maffia or smth ) , wich is kind of between gta and streets of, not too big,not TOO crappy game play.
but then again,i'm not that much of a gamer,so thats all me knows ;-)

Driver is no where near a got as GTA in my opinion, just not as in depth - but I guess it might keep you going until the next GTA comes out.

also the godfather. about saints row looks good high production values but i doubt it has the humour of gta.

Yeah, I don't think you'll find any game that meets up to the high drama, excitement and humor of GTA but the ones above should keep you going for a while.
