To all SE fanboys in denial who are running internet forum/sites claiming that they write unbiased reviews and articles:-

Oh I get it, that number 3 is the contest to see which is number 3 manufacturer in the UK.

For a moment there - I thought you guys were talking about being number 3 in the world. Because the last I checked, Nokia was 1, Motorola was 2, and Samsung was 3, LG was 4, and 5 was Sony Ericsson?

tnx-1clk

I don't think that SE cared too much about being the market leader before. They have always made higher end, more expensive phones. Just recently they started making the cheaper models and reaching up.

Give them time, they might not beat Nokia or Samsung, but they'll give those companies a run for their money.

Or I'm an idiot, and they aren't But whateva, I'll like them even if they're in 5th.

Where affordability is a prior concern, I could never be associated in a level class of the rich and famous having substantial wealth to possess most luxurious items on earth like house, jet, boat or car that cost 7 figures. But for the thing I can afford, I would definitely try not to be associated with anything that lying in the bottom, in a barrel scrapping low position.

The thing is though...

I work at a cell store and have noticed a disturbing trend...

People who are very well of still don't care about buying the better phone. Everyone wants to free phone, the cheapest one. The Motos and Nokias get moved because they are lower ended models that are cheap. Very few people care about functionality where money is concerned. SEs don't sell very well, since there aren't huge cash breaks on them.

Free/Low Cost is far more important than features and quality in America.

Hell, if their free phones break within a year, they're covered under warranty, so what do they care if the build quality sucks?

I'd still recommend SE over any other company though.

Thai, that is not a disturbing trent - some people dont have a NEED for most of the bull**** that is in advanced phones. Some people just need to make a phone call, and reliably.

The only thing disturbing is that most of the cheaper, fre phones make better calls than the so-called "all-in-1ers".

Sad, but th at is my personal experience. Thata life.

Zodiac, you're right. Most do need to make only phone calls, and nothing else. But most of the time, the basic phones they get are cheaply made.

I kinda made it unclear what my point was, but I meant to say that they ignore quality for the sake of cheap. Most of the phones aren't reliable, and I get stuck with the BS when they break down.

IMHO, most of the all-in-oners perform admirably, even better than the basic phones, in making basic phone calls.

I am not sure it's simply an issue of ignoring quality, though that is a part of it. Most consumers also assume (wrongly) that all phones are built equal or equally. Moreover, most aren't tech savvy anyway and pay little attention to the "star trek jargon" that is commonplace to many of us.

I blatantly tell people that the phones they are buying are cheaply made. They hear the keyword "cheap" and don't care about the rest.

I hate people.
