Hello,

First of all, I would like to say that mobile-burn is a great site. Keep up the good work!

Now, let's go to my question. I currently have a Nokia 6130 phone for almost two years now and I think it's time to change it for something new. I'm thinking of buying either the Z600 or T630, but haven't made up my mind yet. In this forum, I've read of posts about bad reception quality of both phones and this is one of the main reasons that keeps me from buying any of these two models. Maybe the bad reception is one of the reasons for the very low SAR number of Z600 (SE says it's 0,16)? Another reason is that although T630 is cheaper than Z600 here (not too much though), I've seen Z600, played with it for a while and I really liked it. Another thing is that I don't like T630's mini joystick for operating the menu (after playing with a T610, but I don't think T630 is different than its predecessor in this respect). So, I would appreciate any thoughts on these matters...

Thank you in advance,
Vasilis

hi man, U can take a look when I asked the same question!

http://forums.mobileburn.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1565

about bad reception, well I think that's mostly a problem for ppl.
living in N.America. My brother has a T610 and he has never
had reception problems here in Sweden.

I was almost ready to go and buy a t630, but then a friend of
mine said something that he has heard about T650 so I made
a search and it goes some rumour saying there will be a
t650 and a T8xx so I really don't know if I should go ahead and
buy a T630 or wait a month or two and see if these rumours are
true or not... as I have heard first pictures of T650 should be
out on the net at end of this month and the phone hase some
impressive stuff (judging from the rumours) :D

since my Nokia 8890 is working perfectly I have decided to wait!

Well, it seems that I'm going to choose T630 over Z600. It's somewhat cheaper here too. I will go to a Vodafone shop today and check it out. I just hope they will have it there... :)

Anyway, thanks for your input. I read the whole thread of yours and it was very informative.

U R Welcome man... :)

it's strange that T630 is cheaper that the Z600...
Here most of the stores I've been in asking has said it will be
like $40 more expensive than the Z600...

Well, about the price. From a store's web site, T630 is cheaper than Z600 if you buy the mobile itself, with no contract. I remember the difference is 30-40 euros (in favor of T630). However, last Tuesday I went to some stores to check out the prices when you sign a new contract and part of the price is financed by the contractor. I checked out three stores and T630 was priced approximately the same as Z600, the difference was 3 euros. So, strictly speaking, T630 IS more expensive than Z600.

I also took a look at it and T630 is really impressive. I can't make up my mind :).

I really need to get one of those so I can test the RF. Either way, I'd be much more inclined to buy the black version of the T630 than the white. I don't like that iPhone look.

RF="reception"

Just my thoughts on RF of Z600 and T630. I now own both of these and I must say I am very disappointed with the T630 as far as Rf is concerned, and I will probably sell it. Because I prefer the candy-bar shape over the clam shell I was really hoping that this would not be the case.

In an area with good reception it is fine but as soon as you move to a known poor reception area this rapidly becomes the worst of my phones. (I have ran this test in multiple locactions with all four of my phones )The call quality is not as good as the Z600 at any time but in this circumstance it becomes unacceptable. This really upset me as the design form of it is great! The Z600 is on a par (maybe even better) than my T39 and the Nokia 6310i actually has the best RF of the lot, but the features and size of it are getting old.

The audio quality at the ear piece is always better on the Z600 compared to the T630 and the people I call consistently say that the call is clearer at their end. The T39 is also very good in this regard.
Hope this helps.

This is exactly what I expected.

A minor, if any, improvement over the T610 - which was quite poor.

That doesn't matter to me. I tested the T610 in France on the 900 band and it was horrible there, too.

The RF is just bad on all bands.

I Live in sweden and I have never experienced bad RF here. Doesn't matter if I'm in the subway or in a Club.

Z600. Definitely better. I've used both of them. T630 is very good, but Z600 is outstanding.

I find T630 to make better photos, but still lacks over all.
