This is my first time in this forum and I need help.

The Background -

#1 - have had AT&T Wireless (recently forced to Cingular a year or so ago) since 1997.

#2 - have Treo 650 on Cingular

#3 - have Blackberry 8700e for work on TMobile to GREAT results

#4 - have had "typical" issues on Treo 650 and more (freezes, power out, email probs)

#5 - Cingular has been crappy in the last two years for me (lots of dropped calls and bad reception) - ready to fire them unless everyone tells me that everyone else is the same ("the grass looks greener...")

#6 - BBerry is perfect for work (love how fast it loads internet - email functions great) BUT

#7 - for my personal phone - I WANT the bells and whistles (fast internet, decent camera, text messaging, email, QWERTY, nice screen, bluetooth, etc.) - like the Treo - size is not really an issue -

#8 - I am on the phone almost 1800 minutes per month - phone capability is important

#9 - What is the best carrier in my area (Baltimore / Washington)? Do I care about GMA v. CDMA?

#10 - do I just go back to Cingular and the Treo 700w or 700p (I have never used Windows platform on phone but am intrigued)

#11 - What do you hear about competing devices to Treo (MotoQ, Cingular 8125, TMobileMDA, etc.)

#12 - oh... and I beat the heck out of phones (I travel a lot dosmetically and can be a klutz):o I am usually forced to a new one every year.

SIMPLY PUT
#1 - which carrier given my desire to surf the net and check email and heavy phone usage in the Baltimore Washington area? Verizon, TMobile or (ick) Cingular (I eliminated Sprint)
#2 - which "Smart Phone" should I buy?

PLEASE HELP... overwhelmed...

Thanks in advance for all your help.

regarding carrier, T mobile has been getting all the buzz recently as being reliable. I have Cingular.

Since you want another QWERTY screen-like device, I'd say wait for the SE p990i to come out and grab that. If you dont need the letterpad, nokia n80 right now, and coming eventually n93 and n73 would probably fir your bill.

This is similar to a post i made a while back, and most responded to my post with the p990, which was my instinct as well.

But who is going to carry the new SE? (that is... when it ever comes out).

I played around with the Q's today and decided that wasn't going to be my choice. So I am looking at the new Treo or the SE you discussed.
