Kinda off tangent, but I've come to the conclusion that most Japanese phones look the same...very straightforward and over time bland:cool: Sometimes I can barely tell between two different models!

Yes but some of their feature sets vary greatly, if you looked into it. My cousin Eric lives in Tokyo. the main difference, he says, (speaks fluent japanese...teaching english in japan) is that the asian consumers look at ergonomics alot more (ususally found in proven, trusted form factors), bolstered by the phones spec sheet and features.

Now, take a look at what is important to Americans. Ever hear of a slim-phone fetish in Asia? Probably not. Why? Because American consumers will generally follow the masses. Take a look at the RaZr's success et al. This is why developers hesitate to release products here in America without first testing how american consumers will react to it. (Not always though, some phones are just plain pre destined for the us, and then some, through research, jump on the bandwagon)

I guess it is just personal opinion, but i think it says alot about the differences between cultures.
