I was absolutely spent on the 6230, but the 7600 is just funky looking and has larger display!

If the 7600 had a MMC slot then I'd be sold (I don't need a tri band phone), its just so small and compact and looks so cool. One of my main reasons for buying a new phone was mp3 player, but I am thinking the 7600 would be a bad idea with only 29megs of memory and no expansion slot. does this AAC compression really make file sizes that much smaller with comparable audio quality.

I just cant make my mind up, and the 7600 and 6230 are both out in AU in exactly 10 days!

What would you go for???

EDGE enabled networks are spreading fast and you do need MMC to carry around a reasonable amount of music.

i got my 7600 and completely satisfied... i would have gone for 6230 if not for its small screen, really.

7600's screen is one of nokia's best - no dead pixels, flickering and visible under sunlight though still not as bright as the Samsungs...guess u cant have everything.

the 29mb will fit about 15-17 AAC music files at mobile-optimised bitrates as encoded byu nokia audio manager...truth is they sound excellent with the earphones on...solid bass and crisp sound. They are small in size. Surprise, their small size still brings good sounds! I have an ipod so this is sthg extra.

If your consideration is that you can have sufficient music to groove along to, 6230 + 128mb MMC can hold a decent no. of AAC-encoded tunes.

I'm going for the 6230. So you say it's out in 10 days by your post? 29th Jan?

Where at? outright purchase or on a plan?

Thanks

Slightly off topic - but is the screen in the N7600 basically the one in the 3660? Thanks!

Yeah the screens are similar. I thought the 7600 one looked nicer though :D

i dunno about 3660, but the 6600 screen has dead pixels and some flicker...these are non-existent on the 7600. 7600's screen is nice and bright. i believe the 6230 would be using 7600's screen

Do you really like 7600's design ??? I think that Nokia designers have succeeded to invent the most uncomfortable and ugly phone in the world. I'really dont like 7600. On the other side we have phone, full of features like 6230, without the ...hmm, strange design, capable of having MMC.

to each his own...what u dun like doesnt necessary mean everyone else hates it.

i simply do not subscribe to the view that the keypad may not be comfortable blah blah before anyone actually handles the phone physically. As it is, I did not find it difficult to adapt to the keypad. Nokia ia about the only company who dares to innovate with designs, though not always successful. For one thing the 160X128 pixel screen is bigger than 6230's 128x128, so that's a bonus. If Nokia had placed the buttons below the screen and created a longer/thicker phone, I am sure there would be complaints once more. the whole point of putting out a line of differeent phones is probably to suit the taste of just about everyone.

I would say that Nokia is capable of giving the 7600 a MMC slot or making the screen of 6230 bigger but there are always biz considerations to take care of. Would any company release a super device such that it would find difficulties improving further in the future. Quite common sense strategy.
