hey guys,

i was considering buying the w810i, but i'd like to find out a bit more before i buy it. i'd really like to know from w810i users as well. it mite b a bit long, but i guess id rather find out alot more about it before purchase decision

i heard there were some issues with sound quality/reception/voice clarity and things like that...has anyone had any issues?

and how is the battery life on the w810i?
ive got the d600. is it a comparable phone?

a few things that id like to find out, does the w810i have a minute reminder beep, like does it make a sound during the call?

can you view the time duration while on a call? (i hate how the nokias make u go thru the menu to find call duration - i want to know how long i am talking for while on a call - juz by looking at the phone!)

what happens when the w810i goes into power saving, does it have a clock display and can you view this? or oes it go into power saving mode and then if you hold it down for a bit, will a clock appear?

does the phone have a missed call/event reminder - like does it vibrate or ring every minute or so to let you know that you've missed a call/received a message, and if so, can you select the intervals that it does this? (you can select the d600 to remind you every minute)

does the phone ring and vibrate at the same time? and if it can, how loud is it? i had the mot e398 and that did an ok job...but i got rid of it coz i dropped it too much n it started playin up on me. a good hardy phone though! the d600 doesnt ring and vibrate...

how is the call clarity as well? i guess some of it will depend on your carrier, but overall, how loud is the phone during calls, with speakerphone function, handsfree use and normal use?

how good is the display in direct sunlight?

and can you access all menu options while on a call?

heh, lots of questions, but these are some of the things that i'd like to know, and if anyone can answer just some, that'd b great. a whole lot of people answering all of my questions is even better!

if you have any questions abt the phones that i have owned before, feel free to ask me too!

cheers all

Some of your questions I think have already been answered in Mobileburns own review. Check it out.

I'll just answer everything in order:

No quality/reception issues for me, easily on par with the K750, and exceeds the D600.

Battery lasts about two and a half days with heavy use.

Yes, it has a minute minder beep

Yes, a timer is displayed during a call

Completely blank screen for the power saver, but if you push the Play/Pause button, a clock appears briefly.

It doesn't have an audible reminder, but it will list the missed call/event on the events pop up on the standby screen, and will place an icon under the clock when doing the above.

It rings and vibes at the same time. Ringtone is loud with polys, but a little soft with MP3s, though not so much that you miss calls. The vibe is not that strong though, and I have not felt it on a few occasions.

I have never had a dropped call with it. Clarity is good, as said above. The speakerphone is on par with the K750, though it isn't great. Not as good as the N90, but acceptable in all but the loudest environments. Words a treat with my Moto H3 headset and mVox car handsfree.

The display is one of the best in sunlight, though not as good as the D600.

Yes, full menu is available.

thx for the help. i also heard that the handsfree plugs into the bottom of the phone...isnt that a bit of a problem?

can you charge the phone and use the handsfree at the same time or is it use one or the other only?

if the handsfree is at the bottom, it may be an issue for me when i decide to purchase :( i like how the d600 has a slide for the handsfree and can be charged separately.

also inregards to the handsfree, how is the quality when using it?

hey guys as i think ive said, ive thought of some more things i wanna find out

can you view the time while on a call. like, 24hr time, not call time?
i hope u know wat i mean...my samsung only tells me my call time, but sometimes i also want 2 c how long ive been talking for and what the actual time is...dun wear a watch n often dont have a clock handy nearby...

and then theres the factor of when u get a message with a phone number of something in it, if u press call or dial or is there an option that u can select to copy the number from the message?
unfortunately my d600 lacks that option n everytime i get a message with a number in it, i often want 2 call or save it n im left stuck. i have 2 memorise the number n then enter it in...a small thing, but stil slightly annoying. my e398 did this function n its a much cheaper older phone
