i'd take a look at the sagem myx6 if you dont need bluetooth/java. it has a lot of fun stuff like changeable covers, 65k tft screen and vga camera. it uses infusio for games but i hear they are hard to find.

*edit.. just saw your other post -> need bluetooth... disregard!!

hey. um, as a teen too I'd say these phones were really cool too:)But I really don't like the screen on the 6230. Infact, I definately wont get it because of it...

The size is kinda putting me off it too, but i'm still probably going to get it, unless a 6620 like phone gets released elsewhere apart from USA, that's one phone i'd love to have!

I have a v600 and can honestly say it is far far cooler than the upcoming 6230...for a start it is drop dead gorgeous and packs everything into it. The ringtones are fantastic, esp the mp3 ones. I downloaded the verve 'bitter sweet symphony' and it sounds just like the radio...really loud and excellent sound. The camera is very good too with 3 different zoom sizes. The menu system is easy to use..ignore those who think that motorola menus are rubbish...you cannot say that any more. Bluetooth works effortlessly and you get a headset in the box with the phone too.
The only reason why the nokia is winning the poll is that no-one else prob has a v600!!! And nokias are soooootired in my opinion.
Get the v600...its a headturner!

It just that the specs list on N6230 are so impressive. EDGE (depending where you are of course) and MMC especially.

And the era of external antennas should be over by now - oh how I hated it on the phone I used to have a few years ago.

WOW! At last people is answering... I really need you to help me make this decision.. I want to get rid out of that Nokia 8265.. Now it has become so boring and... I don't know, doesn't fit my expectations any more... Check this site out in the Mobile. REview forums, please...

http://mobile-review.com/forum2/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5695

And.. About considering other phones... They must work on GSM 850 Mhz Spectrum, since C&W Panama is the GSM Provider.. and since this is America... And nothing to do with CDMA, unless someone finally gets ahead of GSM phones.. and Bluetooth also!

So, keep on posting and (those who haven't, voting) to help me out.. Thanks!

P.S.: That's true, the only reason I find not to buy the N6230 is the screen's size... It's even less wide than my current 8265... What's that!?

What is it exactly you want the screen to do? Browse the web or display TIFF images? For the size of this phone and if it does everything Nokia is saying it will, the phone will be worth every penny and more. In a package roughly the same size as a 6610 or 6200 you get an FM radio, speakerphone, Bluetooth, VGA quality camera and you get a camcorder. Mp3 player and anything else you can put on an MMC card. 65K screen, Java, IrDa, 24 chord Poly ringtones, vocie dailing, streaming video, and EDGE data rates. Jesus...aside from the smartphone fans out there...what more could you want.

The v600 comes close but Nokia has got it beat with this model. Sure the v600 has a nicer display and overall form factor, but the 6230 does things the v600 can't even touch. Mp3 player is hands down a feature that piques my attention every time.

I personally really dont like candy bar style phones, but this phone is really making me reconsider that notion. The trouble of keylocking seems small in comparison to owning the 6230, but this is all just my opinion.

Oh yea, as a side note...the 6230 does browse xHTML...sooo ;)

So does the v600. And you will need lots of accessories to make use of the mp3 player in the nokia none of which seem to come as standard. As for the earlier point about external antenna...this has never bothered me and I always find you do get better reception with an aerial. Besides its what I use to grab hold of to get the phone out of my pocket!!!! And surely no other phone can match the v600 for looks inside and out?

And yes the v600 is quad band so will work on the 850 mhz frequency!!!

See... I continue to be as confused as I was before... The functions of the Nokia 6230 are just WOW... I know that... But the design of the Motorola V600... is just WOW... Remember I'm a teen... Looks are way important... As for an MP3 player... That's one of the things my new iPAQ h2210 can do... So...

I know both of them work in GSM 850 Mhz, that's why I narrowed them down..! I've seen photos shot from a V600 and I must say they are very cool... Look nice..

Please keep on posting, since I still don't know what to think, Although the N6230 is winning in the poll...

Please help me! I think both of them look very cool, Mot being cool and youthful.. Nokia being classy and elegant... The worse is that no one has tried the Nokia 6230, so we all just have to speculate...

P.S.: If someone can give me the [estimated] price of the V600 in USD, thanks!

You should probably wait for the Nokia 6600 or 6600i (6620?) Bigh screen, Series 60 and basically everything else youll ever need :) SYMBIAN :)

Size is one of my major concerns... I'm a teen, I want a cool, sleek, pocket-sized phone to show off... So, what about this phone your recommending me... It's size, it's weight...? Isn't it too pricy?

Although I've seen the specs... And they are very cool... The photos shot from it too... I must say it's got it in specs... But what about design? The Nokia 6230 has also got it in a very small, elegant package...

Waitin' for posts! Please reply

To command: The xHTML reference was meant to be a joke...And the Mp3 player, I would assume, one would only need a set of stereo headphones, which Nokia sells fairly cheap and being as the Mp3 player is intergrated into the phone anyone who takes it for being more than a nifty app to pass time on the train, should probably invest in some sort of portable audio solution. The only other accessory I can think of would be a memory card, but then again, if you bought this phone, then you were well aware of that need. So thats not something that should be a problem.

You are right about the attenna not being a problem...internal, external, makes no difference to me as long as the phone has good RF then all is good. Also, the V600 is very very nice looking, pretty even. If I wanted a phone based solely on looks then the V600 would be very high on my list of phones. As it stands its already very high on my list of phones to consider upgrading too. Moto quality leaves me a little sour though as the last few moto phones I had left much to be desired. C3xx series...ugh, the T7xx series, with its horrible screen and creaky case....and the V66 phone, creaky case, poor battery and low volume. In all fairness I liked the v66. But we are talking about new moto stuff so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. From what I hear, these new V series phones are gonna put Moto back in good standing in everyones heart. Here's to hoping.....

According to what I've read in one of the Mobile-Review Forums... There's no neccesary headset for the MP3 Playback to work... It can go out from it's internal speaker.. That's a plus. After reconsidering it, the MP3 is a good feature after all... I'd rather have it than not....:p What did you mean about the memory card? The thing is that I don't want to be the phone to be based solely on looks... I want functions to back it up...

Girlfriend: Can I make a phone call?
Me: No, sorry... It can't make any phone calls... It doesn't have signal...
Girlfriend: Then why do you have it for?
Me: To show off... It looks amazing!

I don't want a phone like that! I personally like Internal Antennas... just Aesthetics... Memory in 6230 is bigger than that of V600....
Please reply, since I didn't get what you meant about the Memory... Thanks.

PS: Please keep on posting and voting... I need to make this decision...
PSS: I think 6230 is going to win... I like it a lot... V600 counterparts.. Fire!

From what I remember the phone has 32 Mb of on board memory (free memory) it also has an MMC card slot. To make good use of the Mp3 player a bigger memory card (128 Mb) would be needed. At least to hold more music...

It has 32 MB??? But... The Nokia site said that the 6230 had 8 Mb of User Memory.... ?????? I'm confused... And so... After all... I guess Nokia 6230 is the, until now, winner... As far as specs go... And for it's screen... I saw some pictures.... And wow a screen... It's great... And for Nokia's UI, the screen doesn't seem small at all...

If anyone that has the V600.. Can you please help me out here... Others, please reply my cry for help and vote... Thanks!

Sorry I miss read the info on that...the 6230 does in indeed have 8 Mb of on board memory. It comes with a 32 Mb memory card. That's where the confusion lies. Sorry about that.

Check this photos out... They're quite great... What do you think?

http://www.mobilmania.cz/Mobilnitelefony/Ar.asp?ARI=106389&CHID=2&EXPS=&EXPA=

I guess people are afraid of this 6230... No one wants to argument in favor of the V600.... Well....

For me... The 6230 is like the best phone... It's got everything, but the small screen... - check the photos, the screen doesn't look small at all-... Shall I buy the 6230 or I should wait for the so called, Sony Ericsson's Nokia killer (T650?) which Sid mentioned in other thread... But my fear is that I wait and then the SE's phone doesn't fulfill the expectatives... Or worst, doesn't work in my frequency band (850 Mhz).. Or will they also have a T656? :p Please answer, bye.

P.S.: Michael.... Please help me out here you know... Since I registered, I haven't had the honor of being replied by you... Neither helped... Please.
